Props to him for shoutin out the Chicago House influence. I'm geeked to see what the joint sounds like.
I agree with this. It almost feels like Kanye is trying to convince himself of the wild shyt he's saying. If you watch him in an interview he doesn't have the most confident look in his eye. He seems really insecure.
I dont even blame Kanye at this point ... ppl are fascinated with him...
Yeah, Even I gotta disagree with this b/c you had guys like nas, talib kweli, mos def, and Common among others who were still rapping about social issues while getting spins on the radio and videos on TV and what not.
This was when ye was still producing for those acts.
The only difference between them and ye is that ye had a more BOLD and BRASH approach which garnered a lot more attention and hate in the process.
You Steve Jobs now breh?
Kayne is a real smart dumb motherfukker. We all know he was in that slow class
This idiot trying to compare himself to titans of industry like Ford, Hughes, Jobs.
You make hip-pop music breh
Real talk Jay-Z is still way bigger than Kanye in every way imaginable. He even admitted he need Jay to be next to him on tour![]()
Common has 3 gold albums. 2 produced by Kanye.
I think had Lupe come a few years later he would be in a better position. When Lu came out it was Kanye, Pharrell and Outkast who didn't fit the norm but still pushed units. Pharrell's own group didn't push big numbers for that fact
While they were all making that type of music, none of them had songs like "All Falls Down" or "Jesus Walks" in the Top 10 on the charts. These songs were played at a time when Lil' Jon's Crunk and G-Unit ruled radio. None of their songs were getting spins like that. The Talib songs that did get spins were produced by Kanye. Common had a huge a resurgence after College Dropout and Kanye helmed his comeback.
