Dude is a clown and in the wrong getting out his car to confront an old ass woman, then kicking their car like a bytch. She let her temper get the best of her. Anybody that gives a fukk about they mom would probably react the same way:yeshrug:

Well outside of taking Kenpo I don’t have a large TMA background and I’m fine with that because 90% of the TMA in So. Cal. is McDojo nonsense. So I’ll let you have the superior position on TMA...I may or may not be correct and I don’t really care because in the US TMA is filled with a bunch of BS.

I used to stand in a horse stance and through punches from my hip in Kenpo which is useless bullshyt which is what a lot of TMA is filled with. A horse stance provides no defense, doesn’t allow you to use your legs for power, and so we wouldn’t use it for sparring which begs the question...WHY DO THAT BULLshyt IN THE FIRST PLACE?

I prefer Boxing and Muay Thai because they are practical and don’t spend time training on things that don’t help you in combat. I respect MMA because it asks “if your martial art is the deadliest, bring it in the ring”. If the Wing Chun centerline concept is effective in a fight you can put it to the test against a someone who has a background in Kenpo and test it. It may not be perfect and every promotion may not be the best but I feel it’s the purest we ever have seen Martial Arts. All the mystical bullshyt has to take a backseat to what works and that is as honorable as it gets.
Bro...UFC fighters have used that....Conor McGreggor has used that...it's about application

Sitting in a horse stance is supposed to build strength your legs for that stance AND other stances, and teach you discipline and build endurance. You can also use it to drop down quickly, guard/block, and transition into another stance based on the angle, distance, etc.

But anyone telling you to stand in any stance and just fight like that....they sending you down the wrong path

That kind of static fighting is gonna get a breh walloped :damn:

:russ: If this were a movie, she would’ve beat his ass. She had the momentum, the first swing and shes the underdog. I bet when he caught her hand all of her confidence drained. :ufdup:Like the last dragon type shyt. shyt felt like one of those wrestling matches when the guy catches his opponent’s arm and then begins doing his own damage.

Couple of observations

-she should have used BJJ if she knew any to even stand a chance

-the guy was wrong for saying shyt to her mom but was walking away

-women need to know that even trained unfortunately in most circumstances most men will just have brute strength,, the way he tossed her that second time she went after him brutal

- she attacked first tbh he showed restraint,, this would get tossed in court

-not surprised she's latina

I'm the exact same way. It's underrated things like this that allow you to proactively minimize the chances of any potential conflict with other people during your day. People don't understand that.

For instance, I often yield the right-of-way even when the other doesn't have the right of way. "Nah, you go first brother/sista"

Would you guys jump in to help her or would you diffuse the situation?

No, first any backlash would have me identified as the suspect/aggressor and then cops have me in cuffs....my grandparents and all my fam have always told me no matter what, "Mind your business and keep out of other folks dealings"

Traditional Martial Arts like Karate, Kung-Fu, Hapkido, Tang Soo Do, Aikido etc. are like learning nothing but music theory, but you can't play an instrument, that is traditional martial arts.

BJJ, Judo, Wrestling, Boxing, Muay Thai, are like playing in a Jazz Band, you may not know music theory to the level of a pure academic, but you can improvise and play more fluidly than a traditional book-only musician 9/10 of the time.

The girl overestimated her abilities because she never went with anyone in her club that size or if they did, they held back, which is a disservice to her and quite dangerous. Sparring and tournaments are the closest thing you can do to simulate a "street confrontation", but when it goes down for real outside of the club, you can at least control your adrenaline dump and better gauge a situation and think tactically. To me, it really looked like she wanted to just try her moves on someone and thought they would get wrecked...
