I wanna watch the clip first but offhand he might be speaking in terms of his celebrity status…ppl have made the same comment regarding musicians being larger than life back in the day due to their lack of accessibility but at the same time you can’t ignore the talent/success that catapulted their celebrity status

If he won the same way it probably wouldn’t matter

Brady got cheating scandals and is recognized as goat regardless cause of the results

hmm great example…the only thing social media would’ve resulted in is probably more jordan “haters” or trolls looking to downplay his success but he’d more or less still be looked at in the same light

1. Being on social media is voluntary, you can easily choose to not be there and it can lead to having a mystique/aura about you.
2. Concerning the "dirt" about MJ that the media would be putting out every day, let's not forget that all of that is much less of an issue when the player is dominating and winning. I mean Kobe recovered from a damn rape case to become one of the most cherished players ever once he won those two other titles.

Musicians was WILD back in the day.

James Brown and his homies shot up a club in Georgia and didn’t face any criminal nor civil cases/charges over it.

can you imagine a famous singer doing that now :heh::whoo:

True the social media era would've put all of MJ's faults and shyt on blast

Remember the book The Jordan Rules? Imagine all of that shyt coming out on a daily basis. Not too mention his gambling issues
nah. look at Brady. and the deflate and Jets cheat stuff.

MJ would be bigger. championships is what made them god like. they win. people love winners.

Agree and disagree. Twitter and social media does take a lot of mythologizing away but MJs career really was like some storybook shyt even compared to other all time greats across all other sports. And as for the fukkery, yeah a can see that shyt being much more well known but breh wasn’t a maniac like a Lawrence Taylor where they might have shut his ass down. MJ seems to be a have his cake and eat it too type, he’d probably be much more discreet and go about carefully crafting his brand and having his fun on the side.

Like I said, MJ would of EMBRACED IT... he thrives on others hating him.

This is what happened with just one heckler in the game just commenting on his SHOES.

this

hate would have probably fueled him even more, instead of 60 point games, he'd have gone to 80 point games :dead:

SAS would do one segment on him, and it would make Jordan sweep a team in the playoffs, look at the camera and have a full blown conversation with SAS on air. "I took what you said personally"

MJ in the social media age would have been a souped up Lebron James. MJ was pretty smart. He would have gambled more discreetly, kept whatever thots he had silent, and probably would have been a BIT more active on the political/social issues. Winning SIX CHIPS would have made him more of a God than he is currently; again a souped up Bron

The game changer would've been camera phones and the 24 hour sports news coverage cycle.

It would've messed up his persona to the masses if his dirt was out there like that. Reporters helped protect him too.

People give James Harden shxt for partying after a regular season loss.

Imagine if Jordan went to Atlantic City to party all night during a playoff series in the modern era. He'd get crucified.
It don't matter if you winning rings and the best in the game

Harden is a loser and never winning shyt
