There are a lot of black women across the color spectrum that are colored struck too. This is not just a black man problem. I know plenty of girls who went out of their way to have children by light-skinned men.
Y’all really need to get over these childhood traumas and become adults.
Lmao! Why are we so protective of people with ignorant hot takes? “Other than shaming…”
But to be honest, I’ve BEEN in this situation. The guy apologized on some “no offense to u babe” type deal. But then we had a really interesting conversation on why he had an aversion to dark skin on a female. Some of what he said was surprisingly introspective. We talked about some historical factors. How men in his family influences his preferences. How celebrities always seemed to put exoticals as a prize. And he even said he’d been attracted to darker chicks b4 but got clowned by his boys. All shyt I’ve seen.
It’s just very interesting to get to the bottom of the internal associations we have with others when it comes to attraction.
In the end, he did say he didn’t ridicule or harrass chicks like that b/c that stuff ain’t the wave. And it not being the wave anymore for him was due to increased awareness of the stuff from Tik toks he’d seen.
Like I said. Cultural shifts start small.
You seem hurt. It seems like you wouldn't even consider a black woman if God sent her to you himself. You push white women as the easiest woman for a black man to have. They won't solve anything in your life.
I am not hurt. And I have absolutely no problem with black women. The only thing is that we live in a white society and being with a white woman can make access to wealth and health much easier. She can be a conduit to things I want.
Black men can get the same things with a black woman. Black men need to vet better and well as black women. We need to pick partners who will help keep us in health, mind, body and soul. If you look for the best love mate, you will have a healthier life with all other things being added unto you.
Well, yeah, I guess you could say that. When I meant light skin, I mean like Tisha Campbell and when I meant caramel, I meant like Tichina Arnold. Is caramel not light skinned?
Not up to speed and ease you can with a bunny. I’ve seen it plenty of times in other realms in life. It is what it is. I love sisters too though.
Very untrue. Other groups of women can do the same, including black women.
This is just plain wrong and I've seen countless ways where it has been deployed over my life.
One example is in a group of friends, the lighter skinned women will generally get preferential treatment from the men present, women know where they fall in the hierarchy of their friend groups and more importantly, why they do. Men also recognize this, at least in the experiences I've had with my male friends.
One thing brothers would do is target darker skinned women who's friend groups resemble what I've described above, single them out and show them an inordinate amount of attention, a level beyond what they'd ordinarily get and those women were waaaaay easier to smash.
Many brothers understand the dynamics of colorism and some even know how to exploit them for their own gain, it's literally why "you're pretty for a dark skin girl" is used as a compliment by many brothers in spite of it being demeaning and insulting.
