I actually talked to my auntie about this who managed/bartended a bar for a number of years so she knew tons of NBA, MLB players back in the day. She said her and some friends were hanging out with John Salley and Rick Mahorn and asked them "why do ya'll date so many white girls?"

And Salley basically said, "I'm all over the country and most of the country ain't Black. You go to a league party, your accountant/lawyer/team owner throws an event...it's all white women there. It's just proximity."

This is why if you notice, the more educated and wealthy black women got....the more wealthy black men married them.
