Not true.

But that's not the sole reason I'm not a fan, there's a lot that doesn't sit right with me about Kendrick, it feels like music coming from a machine to me, possibly calculated by higher ups. Kendrick's shyt feels safe to me, I'm not convinced by him or his music. Just a personal opinion, have 1 or 2 friends that liked his shyt, but I've never felt him despite countless listens. Liked the Compton track though, but he's lacking edge/bite to me.

How is it not true? The record industry didn't start the day Kendrick was signed. Unless you listened exclusively to underground shyt somewhere along the line every major rapper received a push from "the machine", be it endorsement deals, collaborations, or whatever. Going all the way back to RUN DMC and ADIDAS.

And I'm not the biggest Kendrick fan but :heh: at his shyt being safe. Dude dropped a concept album in 2012 that sounded like virtually nothing else on the market, and went plat. His new song "I", which I don't even like, sounds nothing like any other formulaic radio hit this year.

It's not true because every artist isn't pushed by a machine. Particularly that machine. There's plenty of underground artists that aren't. Countless. No-one said it did, not saying Kendrick is the sole person pushed ever in the history of music lol.

I meant safe in terms of subject matter mainly, he's an acceptable face/figure to a lot of people. Not rebelliousness enough for me. Or Hip Hop enough. It's sprinkled little things in his music or in interviews that sound suspect. Some people call him Koondrick for a reason. It feels like he was there to try and reinvent shyt and take certain elements away while being propped into a position he didn't deserve, it all felt like marketing to me. It felt gimmicky and unreal. And the hype train went into super overdrive to try and manipulate, which it did on many.

Ruler 09 took an L with this one. broh, you don't know what you're talking about.

Also, that rebelliousness has nothing to do with the quality of the music :dead: :dead: :dead:

you sir are everything that is wrong with hip hop music. A position he didn't deserve? he dropped one of the best albums of the last few years :dead:

"i liked that compton track"... yeah, so you like the worst song of his catalog? ok :russ:

u don like it here take ur ass back to kanyetothe no ones forcing u to post here :camby:

It's ironic, because KTT is the last forum to talk shyt about anyone. Cultivated yet they dikkride any piece of fabric Kanye releases to the public and hypebeast basically anything that's destructive in society. :sas1:

And don't even get me started on the Mike Brown threads they got over there.

I wouldn't have a problem with anybody saying Em is one of the best.... He isn't in my personal top 10 but I respect his talent...

From his first album up to Encore he had mean ass run and was putting out music that was pretty much shytting on everybody else at that time skills wise and with the sales

He couldn't maintain as long as Jay or Nas and to me the music he has made in the last few years :ehh: but nothing special

I agree with Kendrick. Em is in my Top 5. I've gotten negged for saying that before. It seems like it puts some people in pain when you say you like something they don't.

It's not even about "racism" (more like prejudice) it's about people consciously, or subconsciously trying to counterbalance some of the unwarranted hype and sales inflation that comes with along with Eminem and his talent.
Yeah exactly. People hate on eminem for any number of reasons. I mean damn.. this dude rapped about angsty teenager shyt.. as a grown man..... Always treated the production as secondary..... distanced himself from funk, soul and jazz influences.

all due respect though...

I am disappointed in Kendrick , this guy has many talent and has a lane of his own. But Eminem call himself Hip Hop all he want I really don't care who is Hip Hop , Eminem is a good battle rapper but not a talented ''entertaining rapper''.
