Oh, ok.

So... first of all, her father wasnt making that money while she was growing up (otherwise she woulda probably went to college). That seems to be a more recent development.

Second, he explains his point most fully around 1:50. She simply won't fit in with the other wives- and yes, that matters. Women are cut throat socially, esp when you dealing with ww as a bw. You need to be able to hold your own in a certain type of way. If your woman don't fit, they all run back to their husbands and now everybody looking at you funny. :usure:

:yeshrug: Class matters. A prep school grad who vacationed in the right places and subsequently dropped out of Harvard or one of the seven sisters might work though. :ld:
Dudes don't understand. The class topic is deep and really needs more than one episodes. Even dudes in the thread don't get it.

Probably. Probably is. But they will sit and write dissertations on how they're not wrong. And because social media is feminine centric they will get a good echo chamber that will temporarily drown out the nagging feeling of regret in their head until reality bites them again.

they have to convince themselves being a debt slave paid off. You notice its mainly them championing the student loan debt cancelation?

most men either got their return on their student loans or didnt even take on any because they opted for other paths, their story on the other hand is diff.

Im listening now. :wow:

I'll say this. There were bm for whom I knew I was not an option. Or others who might have lobbied on my behalf and actually won, but my life would have been hell. Or I could have been a career concubine, not the wife. Bw of the same class often befriended me bc, hey, I got a spark about myself :leostare:, but I wasn't really in in. I got along well bc I realized and played my position. I was there as a junior member, solely to learn, and they showed love.

I found a happy middle ground, the ambitious son of a city worker who did exceedingly well for herself. I did the absolute best that could be expected. His family treats me well, I fit in. I mean, I have my pride.

My cousin followed a similar path, but found a different destination. A beautiful girl, a chocolate barbie. She married into one of these old money southern negro families, but she was always a low key c00n imo. If marrying wm was popping at the time, she probably would have swirled. She's separated herself from the family except for certain ppl in her sorority (the 'pretty' one).

Also, my aunt (moms only sister, ls, curly hair) is married into a creole family you read about in books. I believe she's passing. We're estranged.

shyt is deep.

I've had the misfortune to be around these types too often for my liking, even messed with a couple. Generally speaking, they are a major pain in the ass, and many of them simply don't understand the game they are attempting to play.

So many Black woman Gen-Xer's who are now spinsters fall into this category, they stall out in corporate entry/associate level gigs for 15-20 years and then they stall out career-wise.

They are so used to getting admiration and moral grandstanding on their working class and poor folks for so long that they don't seek out how to play the game at a higher level.

they all got a spark when they start making career progress then hit senior individual contributor roles around 27-35 and literally stall out there the rest of the career and see them senior director or exec dreams fade. The icing on the cake is when they get laid off and replaced by the next batch of 21 yr olds who can do the work for less (something men have always seen and gone through).

for men we work to provide, for these types they work to live a fantasy more so than contribute so when they hit that reality that being a career woman isnt some sexy fantasy its crushing and they think of all the time wasted, all the men passed up, and also that naturally born kids arent happenkng

Yeah, Kev needs a break his energy seems off lately, the amount of interactions he engages in from his consulting gig to the shows is taking a toll

Dealing with people calling in looking to troll, go viral, or conspire to take you down every day probably wears on you. Dude gets called gay, a fraud, and every day he’s getting reaction videos done on him or blogs against him. He gets praise of course but that shyt has to get old, every damn show people are trying to get over on you, not listening, or know what the topic is.

he needs to get off social media and chill for like 2 or 3 weeks before getting back in the grind again. Or switch up and take a break doing women’s shows.

dudes really don't realize that. This is why the "old money" vs "new money" thing comes in. Your money only matters to a certain extent when it comes to social class

In our kind of people they called out how they laughed at entertainers thinking they were now “elite”, nobody catches when Kev says he doesnt include entertainers and athletes in these convos.

folks dont realize there are “black people” with money from the 1800s or even the whole “free people of color” status and what that led to pre end of slavery
