With that being said, for that very reason if that slipped up and happened a man slapping her back is not the same and not justified. I don't want it and don't condone it. I've never hit anyone, man or woman, in my entire life. I don't plan to. I don't want to give nobody an excuse to hit me... The fukk I look like getting hit by a man other than my dad.

It's far more likely that the guy puts hands on me first though, because I tend to get real smart in arguments, tbh, in which case I'm calling the cops on his ass.

If I ever lost my shyt and attacked someone though, I guess I'd have to deal with the consequences--as long as they weren't some wildly disproportionate shyt. Like, if I slap someone, I can understand I'm going to get punched back, have some teeth knocked out, get a broken arm, etc. But I can't accept that someone would actually try to kill me over a slap though. Some of the replies in this thread are taking self-defense way too far.

why get so brave and provoke people and all this is enabled by the police/protection by society. so much faith in these systems but what will you do when you meet someone who just doesn't give a fukk about these systems and traditions? your sense of security and bravery is tied into something so fragile...

The consequence should be leaving her alone. A female hit does not = a male hit. Shake her or something. Why do the repercussions have to physical? If you dealing with a woman you have to hit stop dealing with her.

i personally don't really care if it's equal or not. say i was a child and i spit in my pop's face. my dad would probably had hit me with a belt or something. now does one spit = multiple belt hits? no. does a grown man hitting his young child = a young child hitting or disrespecting an adult? no. but it's not about "equal" repercussions. it's about setting boundaries. something we all need in life. If i'm in a teaching mood, and someone gets brave enough to touch me, i'll introduce direction and guidance to their life. i'll do what i have to do to teach them how to live.

This is not s parent-child relationship. Unfortunately she wasn't raised right, but it is not your job to raise her. You should care if repercussions are equal because you are both supposed to be an adult. 9 times 10 of hitting her won't make her change or it won't be the change you want. You can't raise adults. But you may like a woman being scared of you, or a woman with low self esteem that will stay with someone that will hit them. I would think I would rather deal with someone who I don't have to deal with all that.
