Hmmm interesting
- 2018-2019 missed playoffs
- 2019-2020 Title
- 2020-2021 1st round exit
- 2021-2022 missed playoffs
Hmmm one of these seasons is not like the other… fill in the
bubble that corresponds with the outlier example
The 2020 Lakers were a great team but let’s keep it a buck y’all. The chip still counts but the bubble was an anomaly
You'd have to be an idiot to believe this narrative, considering nearly the entire regular season was played outside the bubble.
2019: Basically no center and a young unproven team yet were just 1.5 games out of 1st place when Bron got hurt, then everyone else went down too.
2020: Went 49-14 BEFORE Covid even came, had the 1-seed and just destroyed Giannis's Bucks and Kawhi's Clippers in back-to-back games before the season was postponed
2020 bubble: Went 16-5 in the playoffs while looking like the best team in the NBA in literally every round
2021: Bron was 28-13 before Solomon Hill rolled over his leg and fukked up his ankle. Came back at about 60% with just 2 games left in the regular season and they STILL beat the Warriors in the play-in then jumped to an easy 2-1 lead on the Suns with Game 4 at home before AD got hurt too.
2022: Lost season, Bron/AD were both hurt all year, they traded away their depth, and there was a vampire in the locker room
2023: Vampire was still around and Bron/AD were still hurt, but Bron kept them alive with Max Christie/Troy Bron/Thomas Bryant lineups and is now 10-2 since the trades.
Lakers were looking strong literally every time that Westbrook wasn't around, they just had Bron injuries in 2019 and 2021 that sunk their record those years.
