The Traps of Unified Korea
Pistons won't be up for sale, the Lions & Tigers will be.
Except....no. The Lions are owned by the Ford family and the Tigers (as well as the Red Wings) are owned by the Illitch family. Two powerfull families who have owned their respective teams for decades and have and will continue to invest billions in the city they're based in. That's like saying the Rooney family will sell the Steeler's or the Steinbrenners will sell the Yankees.

The only franchise not owned by a Detroit dynasty is the Pistons. They're owned by an investment firm out in California. The Pistons are the only Detroit team that will be sold over the next decades

Tom Gores is from Flint. He's as local as the Fords and Illitches. He bought the Pistons specifically to move them downtown and have an 'in' with the new Detroit. Martha Ford is 91 & Bill Ford jr lost a power struggle to his sister so the Lions being sold is coming soon. Tigers sale talks already starting is an open secret

More power to lebron, I can definitely see him owning an NBA team 5-10yrs after his retirement. I don't know if it will be the cavs, now unless lebron and gilbert had a back door deal when he resigned. Something like, after he retires 2 or 3yrs later, he'll come in as a President and then 5yrs or so later, he'll sell to lebron. Also don't be surprised if lebron goes on to have ownership in an NFL or MLB team as well. This man will make power moves when it's all said and done.

Another thing, I don't understand why people trip out about majority owners of pro teams being white? It's clear that 9 out of 10 teams are family owned and get passed down from generation to generation. Obviously in some cases when teams do go up for sale, it doesn't matter if you're white or black, green is the only thing that matters. Now unless someone can show proof that a team was sold to a white man even though the black person was the higher bidder. Now obviously GM, president and coaches are a completely different story
Harsh reality is Black people like to complain about Black people not owning anything but don't want to contribute to Black people owning anything...and then shyt on those who do. Black people still think entrepreneurship is a spectator sport.

ase popularity of the Cavs post retirement. If MJ can do it, so can LeBron, and LeBron have powerful and rich people in his corner.

MJ money way longer than lebron + he bought when the market was different.

the cavs are currently valued at 1.2 billion. The clippers were valued at that and sold for 2 billion.

Dan bought it for $375 million and they generate $225 million revenue a year(that we know of, since they wont open the books. Real revenue probably closer to $300+ million) . why would you sell anything generating you that much money per year :heh:

you guys arent thinking logically in here at all

First you said where would Lebron would get the 1.5-2 Billion to purchase the Cavs, I told you how

Now you're bringing up Dan Gilbert not wanting to sell Lebron the Cavs

:dead:

Just agree he can get the money but Gilbert "might" decline his offer

? Ive always stated Dan Gilbert wont want to sell, I also posted earlier on how Lebron would need to acquire the additional funds.. please stay on topic when discussing shyt with an older poster.

unless lebron invests in something else and triples his networth and spends it all in 1 blow on a team buying a team out right is not in the plans - ever. Best he can do is what Magic did with the Dodgers and start a partnership firm that just absorbs all investments with other million/billionaires

I wrote this earlier in the thread. Keep up.

I been saying this shyt for a while, dude will OWN that STATE when it's all said and done. He will hav some sort of ownership in ALL of their teams just off the strength of his name. He will have political power just because of his name, he could endorse mayors and congressman right now and half of the people in that state would follow just because he is LeBron. Dude has been setting himself up his entire career for life after basketball. I really believe that he looks forward to that more than actually playing basketball. He just comes off to me as more of a business man than a basketball player.

Right.
