Mr. Somebody
Friend Of A Friend
Most classics are samples. Few classics are trap beats. very few, friend.

ironic that he was talking about young thug not being around in 7 years, because trap wont be around then eitherYou have to understand: guys like DrX aren't interested in hip hop. They're pop fans. Whatever's popular they'll listen to it without a second thought. That easily disposable non-threatening dull basic shyt... they can relate to it.
We've seen their type before. They come and go.
Some of them are really talented though.
You can tell this beat had a ton of work put into it. Probably hours and hours finding the right sounds, tweaking the synths and bass synth, pitch bending the bass and drums, layering and sequencing it, tweaking the delays and effects, adding in the vocal samples. Crazy shyt.
sampling is what hip hop is built on, im sick of this narrative that sampling takes no skill.. you couldn't juggle two records on turntables to make the simplest of loops. (which is how it started) stop it fam
do you know how to take a bassline from one track and sample just that ? and lay your own melodies.. because that's common as well.
meanwhile we got the biggest star in hip pop, not writing his own rhymes
they actually create their own music...alot of these sou;l samplers loop samples also...the real reason hiphop heads hate trap beats are because of the shytty rappers that rap on them....If nas hoped on a sonny digital beat, magically sonny would be that nikka in agmonst hiphop heads....hiphop heads are sheep just like the causal fans
We just need conscious lyrical dudes on the trap sound...imagine a modern day cube or tupac on a groovy 808...that shyt would change the game....
I think these guys waste their talent working with these bum ass rappers....if they want to become legends, they need rappers that can bring substance to their tracks...whos going to listen to young thug 7 years from now?
so dont hate the producer, hate the "artist"
