It's people FROM Chicago who think the entire West Side is this way. I mean, it is for the most part, but the neighborhood I posted earlier in this thread, Galewood, is more than 50% black and it looks much nicer than the majority of the west side.
If you drive through there, you'd probably think you're in the burbs. It's a lot of city workers like fire and police that live there.
My family moved to River Forest in the mid-90's, Galewood is absolutely not over 50% black. It's more around 30-35% black. Galewood along with Elmwood Park is more white and hispanic these days with the hispanics growing in population.
