I don't entirely agree that Texas players are soft. However, the system that these HS players play turns out softer players much higher than ever before . The o lineman from Texas are azz because they aren't really taught to run block in high school. Texas use to be known for physical grind it out types that produced great lineman on both sides of the ball, linebackers, and running backs. The talent is there and it always will be there. But it's starting to be on certain positions now because of that stupid azz spread offense.
I think the 7-on-7 culture is watering down Texas HS football. I might be wrong.

Yeah I said it in the game thread. The top two Texas schools have had mediocre coaching the better part of the last 40 years. Imagine if Bowden or Spurrier was coaching Texas and Texas A&M respectively like they did FSU and Florida.But also it's the garbage coaching at the college level as well.

a&m has done a pretty good job keeping the best talent in state recently just terrible coaching

Southlake Carroll ruined Texas High School Football and somewhat Texas college football. No long the team with the real talent won state. Every Texas High School team had to adjust to the Southlake Carroll style of play to compete.
