Man, breh those are some good questions, but I gotta go with

Mac's - "Be all you can be", that was a well put together song and I like how BBTP had everyone in the right places on that song. Mac's verse being in the middle just took the song to another level and Moby dikk's candance/singing at the end just captured your soul. Fiend started off the song in the most profound way, and the way he set Mac up was just amazing. Silk's candance was ok, but the words in his verse was something to really ponder over, that's what made him to me stand out in that song.

Honorable Mention. I'd say "Swamp nikka" beat...P ate that one up

Top NL album - I will say Tru 2 Da Game for me.

Mia X, underrated, doesn't get her props, she held her own as the only female in the crew, She killed everybody on that Hot Boys and Hot Girls song, ppl would say Mystikal and he did his thang, but if you go back and listen to Mia X verse on that song..she gave me chills :blessed: her style and harmonizing on that verse is what set it off...
Mia X was that chick, I was glad P looked out for her. I think her best songs came with her being up against everybody..when they all would get on one track, I think she did her best then...see "You don't wanna go to war"

What about you breh..same questions

Be all you can be is legit in my top 5 rap songs of all time.

Nah Kane & Abel are out for a while. There were pictures of em with the oldschool NL soldiers at Magic's funeral

Surprisingly decent album, liked the cuts with Mystikal, with Serv-On and with Mia X. Also Do You Wanna Ride and I Can Tell are huge bangers.

O'Dell and Sons Of Funk laced that album with some fine production

Well worth checking out

Just shows how much nerve and nuts CMR had to drop 400 Degreez in the same year :obama:

They were smart though cause they dropped that late in the year

None of No Limit's late 98 releases had anything to really touch 400 Degreez. Cash Money carried that momentum into 99 and took over from there

All of the classic and high selling shyt from No Limit came out early in the year and they tapered off

It's a lot of them dudes on that list that we didn't need an album from:hubie:

True

Made Man and Bossalinie were pretty disappointing from every point of view, only good news were It Ain't My Fault 2 went into the Hot 100 top 20 charts and C had some different type of tunes on his album (songs with Goodie Mob, Daz, Kurupt, alot of R&B tunes), not the typical NL formula

Quality control went out the window, P was occupied with his other ventures and his B-ball career, C was overworked, plus the Snoop overseas tour in fall/winter 98, No Limit Soldiers Tour in summer 99, bringing out album after album (who the fukk needed a Lil Soldiers or Lil Italy or No Limit Allstars B-Ball album?)...it was just too much

BBTP became lackluster with their beats (listen to KLC's crappy stuff on Made Man)

Highlights in 99 were the excellent Fiend and Mac albums, a good TRU album and somewhat decent R&B albums from Mo B dikk and Mercedes. C, Silkk and P had subpar/rushed albums, Mystikal's Let's Get Ready To Rumble didn't drop...

Man you didn't like that Mo B dikk album??

I use to burn the shyt outta these songs...still do

They dropped some quality heat over the summer with that Fiend album but I can recall, Fiend album came out around the time Hot Boys - Guerrilla Warfare dropped, I wanna say on the same day and that was the most anticipated album that summer. I remember posters being everywhere in the city for that album to drop, and at that time CMR was rolling hard in the city and picking up steam around the country. Ppl still fukk'd with NL but that Hot Boys album to me put the nail in the coffin for NL. That Guerrilla Warfare album took over the city that summer smh. That shyt was pure heat and the track B.G. Help where he took shots at NL didn't make it no better.

Side note: What every happened to the LIl Soldiers? didn't they come out with an album.

P just lost his focus and felt he could put that music part on auto-pilot, he had Serv-on making decisions and putting together projects..not saying Serv-on was a bad dude or anything but P wasn't there to oversee the projects that were coming out.

I did feel he was trying to push his artist to create their own record labels which snoop, fiend, c, and others did.

As you stated, those albums Silk, and P put out felt rushed and the creativity wasn't there...I think they felt at that time, they could put out anything and it would sell of the strength of their names
