legit in the hood, but didn't really have critically acclaimed albums still Snoop got there. Top Dogg is near classic and Tha Last Meal is an easy 4-4.5mic album

Nah, No Limit had Gold & Platinum plaques before Snoop.

Look at how expensive this video is for Mia X, that featured Foxy Brown

All before Snoop

The correct answer to your question @NO-BadAzz is that C-Murder got so much exposure before his album that is what made it so anticipated. He was in TRU, he was on everybody else album so we all by default looked forward to it. fukk a stan. On top of that C-Murder was the last original member to release an album. Silkk was already on album 2, P album 5, Mia was on album 3, yet C-Murder didnt drop till 98.

I always wonder what took C so long to drop his album, I remember hearing dude on the radio and Wild Wayne (local dj) here asked him and dude was like he was just chilling (whatever that meant) but I wonder why it took dude until 98 to drop his album, but when it dropped that shyt flew off the shelves smh.

I remember that week it dropped, mane everybody and their mama down here had that shyt Lol...Akickdoe was killing the scene

I'm not sure if you speak about albums that magazine pump up, but Tru 2 da game was/is a classic and Ghetto D is a classic.

What made P stand out from the rest of the other CEOs that came through the game, dude was all about his money and didn't really care about the fame...dude dropped albums without having one radio single being played..but I see your point though with Snoop, Snoop somewhat put him in another light..but P had the underground world on lock...

I was shocked P performed at the American Music Awards...was it in 98??

That's a crazy ass year right there and it doesn't even include most of their classic material. (tru 2 da game, ghetto d, ice cream man, west coast bad Boyz 2) No Limit was king during their run. Top 7/8 goat hip hop catalogs.

Then closed the year out with the Fury. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was working at Chick-Fil-A at the mall & saw Boz & a few big dudes with him all charmed up with the NL pieces. He autographed my napkin after he placed his order but when I tried to tell him I could rap he wasn't hearing all that.:russ::russ:
About a week or 2 later I see this article in the paper.
