Again you're trying to turn this into a Spoelstra vs Doc thingI was just making a point. Spoelstra always dissappointed me. Rivers seems to be a terrible GM, doesn't take away the fact that his teams often overachieved. Spoelstra's teams have largely underachieved.
I agree with you that Spoelstra has always underachieved as a coach. You won't catch me arguing this often.
However, I dont agree with the Doc often overachieved thing. Again, papi, I'm NOT comparing Spoelstra to DOc. I brought up Doc simply because he seems to be the standard these days when clones talk coaching excellence outside of Pop.
IMO Doc did a GOOD job in Orlando. He did what was expected in Boston once they got Ray and Garnett therefore GOOD job. He's doing a GOOD job with the Clippers right now. However whenever I hear Doc mentioned on the coli people seem to use the word GREAT with i dont agree with.
I dont think he has overachieved often at all. There may have been a season where he took a team to the playoffs that wasn't expected to. I THINK he did that in Orlando only. Outside of that his teams have pretty much ended where you would expect based on the talent
