I was just making a point. Spoelstra always dissappointed me. Rivers seems to be a terrible GM, doesn't take away the fact that his teams often overachieved. Spoelstra's teams have largely underachieved.
Again you're trying to turn this into a Spoelstra vs Doc thing

I agree with you that Spoelstra has always underachieved as a coach. You won't catch me arguing this often.

However, I dont agree with the Doc often overachieved thing. Again, papi, I'm NOT comparing Spoelstra to DOc. I brought up Doc simply because he seems to be the standard these days when clones talk coaching excellence outside of Pop.

IMO Doc did a GOOD job in Orlando. He did what was expected in Boston once they got Ray and Garnett therefore GOOD job. He's doing a GOOD job with the Clippers right now. However whenever I hear Doc mentioned on the coli people seem to use the word GREAT with i dont agree with.

I dont think he has overachieved often at all. There may have been a season where he took a team to the playoffs that wasn't expected to. I THINK he did that in Orlando only. Outside of that his teams have pretty much ended where you would expect based on the talent

He can be a great coach but man does he have a hard time adjusting.

He has thrown away at least 10 games this season with his coaching and keeping Whiteside on the bench in the 3rd. Even with Wade's games off, the Miami Heat should not be 8 games below .500

Like I said with spo it is either two options you must come to when evaluating him. He is either a incompetent and dumb coach or he is out there point sharing period. There are no other options when you see the dumb shyt he does.

Also I he is nothing more than the basketball version of Andy Reid.

Doc you know the comment I made about the twitter rumor on Andy some years ago. Whether you agree with the rumor or not how else could you excuse the dumb shyt that Reid has done?

Spo is not a good coach :whoa:
The Heat had a top 3 player in Wade those seasons, not too mention it was the East. This team will not go anywhere until the current regime leaves(Riley and Spo), neither of them believe in developing young talent(yo-yoing Whiteside and Ennis/Bazz), and the core is just too mediocre(Wade and Bosh) to overcome that.

The thing is even though Riley doesn't develop talent he is known of closing deals with free agent and making big trades. Juwan Howard, Alonzo, Shaq, Lebron, Masburn, Bosh and etc. The thing is Miami being a party town and just a fun city the organization has to have star power to get fans to come to the games.

So having Riley there to attract free agents and make big time trades helps. But I think when Riley leaves Alonzo will be the GM.

I use to dislike him as a coach. But I thought he really improved the last couple of years. I know the team has injuries, I know he lost LeBron and I know the guards suck.

However, I really felt he was a top 5 or 6 NBA coach last year. This year he's made some questionable ass coaching decisions :mindblown:

You felt that way because he had Lebron , spolestra always sucked

His offensive play calling is horendous, that is if he even makes any. He just lets bosh jack threes instead of demanding him to go to the post. As bad as NoCole is, he does have speed but Spo dont run any offensive to utilize it and open the court. I like Coach but he too soft

Miami might have the worst supporting cast in the NBA

Mario Chalmers (especially w/Wade on the court) and Norris Cole are horrible players, James Ennis has been disappointing all year when heat fans low key crowned him as dude that was going to be significantly solid/good before the season. Danny Granger shouldn't even be in the NBA at this point he has 3-4 game stretches like once a month where he can actually hit an open shot, but for the most part he's inconsistent trash. Birdman is solid, Shabazz is solid (for a rookie that has been to the NBADL twice this season), Haslem is a team captain that doesn't even play and Justin Hamilton is 7 ft 3 point shooter that gets no minutes and Shawn Williams can't defend a paper bag

there are a few loses you can blame on Spo due to just coaching decisions but this season is overall due to a roster filled with shytty players

why shouldn't they be?

Guard play is horrendous
No 3pt shooting

You can still be somewhat competitive with one of those problems but not both. Next season they should have a nasty frontline rotation.... Whiteside/Bosh/McRoberts but its not gonna mean shyt if they still have no shooting and horrible guards.

Because its the fact he's playing those horrid guards over the frontline. I feel like if he just gave more time for Whiteside they aren't throwing these games away. You have to really watch the games to see it. It feels like with all the holes, they would still be at least at .500 with letting him sit and running more through the guards.
