I think mom chose well regarless of how much of a scumbag my dad has been. Me and him are on great terms now, he apologised for all the absence and because I turned out ok i have no reason to be resentful anymore.

my mother choose my father. They had their up and downs but they made it work. I love him for the support and love that til this day he gives me. He’s not perfect but he has tried his hardest to be there and as an adult and parent I appreciate his struggles.

My mom hit the lottery. Pops was a local celeb, made a lot of bread when he was younger. Genetics are great. My father’s side of the family was middle class.
He was just gonna a lot when I was younger up until the age of 12.
My mom was perfect for him though, he needed someone to hold the household down and not give him any problems.

TBH I wouldn't want to be married to somebody similar to either one of my Parents. At least I know what to avoid and how NOT to act when/if I get married.

I already posted about my dad. But I have a step dad who raised me also. They have been married for decades. I've never lacked love or support.

My grandmother chose my dad for my mom. She saw that he was hard working and disciplined. So I’ll say my grandmother made a good choice.
My parents are divorced now though.

My mother chose great. My pops was a country boy who loved from western MD to Baltimore after hs and worked factory jobs to support himself. When they met she was a young teacher from the hood and he had just become an electrical apprentice. Over the years he ended up becoming licensed. Both of them are good solid people. The man taught me how to use my hands to fix shyt around the house and the car and how to box. He made sure I was in sports year round and never missed a game from kindergarten to my sophomore year of college. He just turned 71 and brags about how he still doesn’t have to take medication for anything
