There's a lot of pro-union nostalgia in this thread but no mention of the fact that unions themselves suffered from institutional racism and often excluded non-white workers. Having "unions" does not guarantee that said unions will actually represent your interests (although, ideally, they would).

you don't want any parts of that question how illegals help black people, do you :wow:
I prefer to focus my energy on the causes of systemic oppression, not the bi-products.

In the same vein that better prisons would be nice, but I'd rather focus on people getting disproportionately locked up, charged, and sentenced.

:ehh:

This thread is about the majority of Americans living paycheck to paycheck.

2 pages later, you've yet to show how immigrants from South and Central America are the reason. :russ:
they arent the reason. im just questioning why you cheerlead them :heh: you cannot answer that question

if shyt sucks, why add factors to the mix that make it suck even more :yeshrug: stop shilling

Why is this so shocking to people?

Are people really just blaming individual irresponsibility for every ill in this country?

Unions guarantee more representation than a vacuum with no unions.
Most people know of the union history of bias and racism. Doesn't at all discredit collective bargaining power, and the effect on wages as a whole.
