He’s always had solid production. The style isn’t the problem. He’s always done the gritty style perfect but these beats don’t grab me like the ones on his projects and work from 2011-2017. It’s the same producers which is what is weird to me. I really liked crown and drop 5 on COTI1 production wise and on this new project I like switch up and dead roses. Banks never disappoints lyrically. He could rap to anything.

Y’all acting like his beats are supposed to suck cause his raps are good. He can have both and deserves it

i do agree the beats are better on the first coti tho. The first coti is a better album.

It starts

A few songs in you realize every beat is some synth pads and weak/clunky mixed drums.

I’m sure he still got some punches, but sonically wow this is boring. It makes the whole album sound like 1 song.

Really disappointing

EDIT: and this coming from a big Lloyd Banks fan from the mixtapes, G-Unit albums, first independent stuff. Beats matter in Hip-Hop. Maybe they blast in the studio surrounded by yes men, but bumping this in the car, it’s a no.

I'm glad someone else noticed the terrible drums too. Banks be playing himself with this cheap production.
