75% of Black children are raised in single parent homes, of course parents should "learn how to raise kids", we should also learn how to stop killing one another in the Black community, unfortunately neither of those is a current reality, many of these kids are raised by the streets and the music they listen to everyday to make it through the day, and it's usually music that is extremely destructive.

parents simply aren't around for many of these kids, but the celebrities they aspire to be like are, these kids have nothing and they can look at a celebrity that came from the same background as them but they made it by rapping about drugs, disrespecting women and murdering Black men.

rap isn't merely entertainment for kids who actually live the lifestyles these rappers only rap about while living in million dollar homes protected by gated communities.

the lines are very blurred for many of these kids.

I get what your saying, but people need to learn that rappers and celebrities aren't idols. It starts with the home. Sadly you have families with generations back raising children when they shouldn't be. For example, I know families in Newark where I really question whether these families should continue to have kids... You have Grandparents who didn't know how to raise a daughter, then the daughter has kids and doesn't know how to raise someone and guide them, then her kids have kids....It's a cycle

change is made from the inside out. the rappers, specifically the luminaries and the elder statesmen (26+), need to lead the charge.. c delores tucker and calvin butts aint "cool" to anybody, its easy to make them the enemy and to make them seem like the bitter aunts and uncles... no kid is following their lead. why can't jay-z or diddy or russell simmons gather all the rappers together and set a goal, to make being smart and being peaceful and being respectful of others "cool"? imagine if everything negative and destructive wasn't cool, can you even grasp that concept? imagine if lean and pills and objectifying women and being a gangsta and smoking a thousand blunts and selling dope was "square". The beats can remain the same, the bars, the cadences, the swag, etc... just a change of message, is that so unthinkable? I can honestly say that rap is the biggest misuse/waste of power and influence in the history of mankind. with the influence this culture has over the youth I don't think it's far-fetched to say that rap and rappers could change the world, why not change it for the better?
because that's not inline with the agenda breh...it's not going to happen...but don't take it from me though i've been labeled as a youtube illuminati scholar on here lol

I'm speaking about the influence of Hip Hop on youth, not a casual hip hop fan, and the effects this music culture has on kids is similar to drugs, it destroys their minds.

...and I'm speaking on how you've managed to generalize an entire race based on those you follow on instagram, amongst other silly ass sweeping generalizations.

There are kids who grew up in the "hip-hop generation" who are doctors and lawyers today. You're talking out your ass point-blank.

Sounds like a nice wish but realistically it will never happen. So now that we have established that will never happen now what??
who has established that? that's stinkin thinkin bro, smh, damn shame. what's so impossible about that taking place? i blame those people that i named, and everyone else on that level in hip hop, for letting the kids lead them. the adults follow the kids, everyone follows the kids, it's disgusting. at root that is the problem, kids dictate the path in this culture, i don't think there is any other genre of any sort that is like this. kids are fukking stupid.

why in hell would these kids not idolize the rappers when the rappers rap about and "own" a lot of the things these kids aspire to own?

they have the lamborginis, ferraris, big houses, jewelry, money, exotic women, why wouldn't these kids glorify and idolize the men who were able to obtain all the things they want?

there are also kids born to crack addicted mothers who have gone on to become doctors and lawyers.

the music is destructive point blank, and kids who already live dysfunctional lives due to them not having both parents present or living in abject poverty aren't being taught anything positive from rappers who glorify black on black crime, drugs, disrespecting women and other immoral and destructive behaviors.

The music is music...it's obviously not meant for everyone but you simply cannot blame hip-hop for a kid who had a poor upbringing due to other unrelated circumstances. There's simply no logic to that.

Starts at home man... Kids are worshiping fake idols.... Parents need to let them no about reality vs fantasy... Parents need to let them know these things are rented (even the women, lol)..... They need to be informed about the other ways to obtain wealth and stability..

Parents need to let them know about short term money verse long term money.... I can't lie and say as a kid I didn't want look at certain rappers and want to be them, but as I got older you learn about what is real.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
This type of shyt has been happening with the youth long before hip hop..what's goin on right now is.. Ur getting more mature..hip hop does have it's influence.. Just like ANY form of entertainment..But I blame the lack of parental guidance and lack of balance in the game more than anything else..and if someone doesn't have guidance which I think we're in a TERRIBLE era as far as parental guidance goes..things are gonna tend to get more fukked up..cause the govt is making it harder for parents to discipline their kids..and a lot of these parents are just as immature as these kids out here..living in they 2nd Childhood n shyt..

:what:

Black, white, red, green...Dem, Repub, Independent...rich, poor, middle class....youth of all races talk in slang about getting fukked up, trying to get on chicks, and the like.

Just like most of us did, just like our parents before that did in the 60s and 70s, etc.
I'm talking about hiphop negative influences beyond slang.

where are all these parents y'all like to bring up? These kids are damn near raising themselves, and many of them use poisonous hip hop as an escape.

A staggering number of African-American children are raised in single parent homes, compared to the rest of America, and the rest of the world. A study conducted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development found that 25.8 percent of American children are raised by a single parent, a number high above the 14.9 percent average seen in the other 26 countries surveyed. Among African-Americans the rate nearly tripled, with 72 percent of black children relying on a single parent.

It had such a big influence on white people that I am sure there was a conspiracy to take hip hop off course like government shuts down any thing or anyone they see a threat (black panthers, john lennon etc). Imagine how scared white people in power were when run dmc and p.e and nwa was selling out arenas filled with white faces? Im white but ill keep it real rich powerful white men do not want any possibility of any other skin color getting in a position of power. Thats what the whole new world order shyt is really about.

I will say this, the youth seems to be more loss, dumb, fukked up, and spineless now more than ever. I wonder if kids are more fukked up today from this garbage or were they more impacted when hip hop first came out.

uncut truth from a White person, and Black people will still ignore and pretend like "it's just entertainment"
