I forgot about the Kay Slay video shoot. He was mad as hell over that. Didn't he call Nas a snake for that one? Right after that the flower pot incident happened. Nas needs to right a book for real for real.

Son stfu...what he said was what irv said out his own mouth...Nas was at the height of his career at the time of that murder inc shyt.....he sells less?..that u owe me video cause him to sell 1.5 milli...especially considering it dropped the SAME year as I Am...Hate me Now was a commercial single and look what he sold for I Am...he was even on mad features at the time as well...Hot Boy..etc...ultimately I'm glad he ain't wanna fukk wit Murder Inc but u spewin some bs ..

Irv Gotti got sales talk what the fukk you think? Do you think a seller is gonna walk up to you and say it's better you stay and do your own thing, I can't help you.

Nastradamus sold 1.5 mill, when his closest competitors were selling 5 million.
Even certain wu members with basically no videos or promo were going gold with eaze in the 90s. Nastradamus sold about half of what I Am did in it's first week. The stans obviously copped it and dumb broads who liked the wack ass singles. And it basically kille his reputation until Got yourself a gun and Ether. And btw You owe didn't even peak high, not even a top 40 single. One thing is clear Nastradamus didn't have the success of his 2 previous albums and his 2 following albums. Irv could give Nas another Nastradamus, another leather vests running around Naked and it would alienate his fans and when the trend died he would've most likely been gone like Ja and Ashanti. Instead of doign what he felt the most comfortable doing ie Stillmatic and God's Son and up til this day still going gold.

As far as a bigger star
Hate me now was commercial, like almost every Nas single is commercial. But it wasn't pop music, you owe me was straight pop could've switched out Nas for Justin Timberlake and I wouldn't tell the difference.

Irv said in an interview that Nas ultimately didn't want that amount of exposure. He said that his plan was to make Nas a bigger star and Nas shied away from that

Nas wasn't dumb enough to out himself in front of the 50 train, and 50 was close enough to Nas, to have serious dirt on him.

Nas simply wasn't about that life and back peddled before he came collateral damaged, luckily 50 just threw a couple of shots, and decided not to destroy that man's existence .

Son..Nastradamus came out in the same year basically out of NOWHERE...there wasn't even any anticipation for that shyt...u owe me wasn't pop...it was basically timbaland laced RnB.that was poppin at the time...IN REAL LIFE...u RARELY came across peoplo hated U Owe Me...to keep it real wit u...there's certain shyt that I never seen get hated on until I hit the internet....I don't give a fukk what kinda single it was...but u always pull this shyt tho...u hit Nas wit the backhanded compliments actin as u some type of fan to hide ya hands...I see u g...and I'm not even sayin that the album was hot..or none of that shyt... But all that "he sells less" talk is nonsense...Nas basically threw Nastradamus together and just dropped it and it still sold...Nas' OWN manager said the same thing about Nas that Irv said...not sayin it woulda been a good move to.go wit Irv AT ALL cause I don't think it would have...but u responded to dude with a bunch of shyt that was irrelevant to what he said...

SMH at anyone actually thinking that Nas was going to sign to Murder Inc. it's no wonder some of you are so easily confused. There needs to be a thread made here that basically shuts down and exposes all of these false myths and rumors about Nas because some of you are are too easy to believe everything you read.

50 nearly destroyed Nas with that lil ass jab about Kelis, don't try to act like Nas didn't lose the Streets with that wack ass God Son he released in that period, after the Camron dust up, Nas was ripe for the taking, he knew he aint have the ammunition to deal with a prime 50, with EM and Dre in his corner

The best rapper doesn't win the battle, friend, and the length 50 takes to embarrass his enemies, and being that him and Nas ran in the same circles, Nas would have been food, luckily 50 spared him
