The NBA's CBA is ass for penalizing teams for retaining and paying players that THEY drafted and developed. Nobody can tell me otherwise
The talent is already spread around. My issue is really about teams that draft well being forced to part ways because of these rules that prevent them from keeping those guys they've invested in.Spread the talent around...
looking at our cap and the projected 2nd Apron, we could actually take his salary back and still be under the 2nd apron.Pritchard coming to SnowTime![]()
And thatβs before you add in Mobley winning DPOY and the bread that comes along with it.that second apron penalty too much. It's like 189 million. Cap is 140, 1st apron is 171 million.
they're like 4 million over the 2nd apron right now, but next season is REALLY BAD. They got 225 million already on the books and are projected to be almost 18 million over the projected 2nd apron right now. Their 5 core starters next season at 190 million alone.

It's why Phoenix gonna try and dump KD in the offseason. They're 26 million over the 2nd apron THIS season and are paying massive penalties. Cleveland gonna have to make some choices this summer too as they're projected to be over the 2nd apron next season as well.
See, now how different would this look if the players these franchises drafted didn't count towards these Apron threshold numbers?that second apron penalty too much. It's like 189 million. Cap is 140, 1st apron is 171 million.

I see Mobley's extension begins next season. That puts them over the 2nd apron. And thatβs before you add in Mobley winning DPOY and the bread that comes along with it.
Okoro is probably going to be odd man out and they might end up losing Jerome.
100% agree. Rather make a cap for non drafted players per team. Or a 1 player exception to the cap that you drafted. Something.See, now how different would this look if the players these franchises drafted didn't count towards these Apron threshold numbers?
CLE: Garland, Mobley etc
Boston: Tatum, Brown etc
