There's so much delusional online discourse between black people about who is high value, who should pay bills, etc that no one just says the truth. Black people are behind in every possible way financially. I get many women hold out for a high value man but if you aren't offering anything and aren't really high value yourself...you're just wasting your time waiting. We've got single moms making 40k a year demanding ballers. It ain't happening ma'am. Go marry a mechanic and build life, wealth, etc. Of course the men have to take marriage seriously too and so far many black men just don't. I say this as a black man who isn't thinking about marriage...and thankfully dating someone who isn't either.

The BIGGEST LIE being sold right now is that white men pay all the bills for white women and that the majority of white women are these 1960's housewives with everything paid for.

When in reality there are plenty of cac couples using dual incomes to build.

All they gotta do pull up an episode of the Dave Ramsey show. It usually a cac talking about how he and his cac partner are either trying to build, fund something or reduce debt TOGETHER with BOTH of their incomes. Cacs who ALREADY have HIGH INCOMES

If they were black couples, black women would call it "struggle love", meanwhile cacs look at it as "getting up the ladder easier and faster" as two incomes are better than one

I agree about the being behind thing. Marriage is a financial tool. It can lower your taxes, give you free money, improve your credit etc. Yet a lot of black people simply don't take any of that seriously while others do. White people marry young all the time. Guys working construction part time, married to receptionists. Putting their income together, having kids, so far removed from the "a man should pay all your bills" discourse we deal with online.

I see the same thing from Asian people I know. My current gf is Mexican American and most of her family are lower to middle income people who married young. Most of the men work in some form of outside labor (landscaping for instance) and the women are maids or teachers. This is why I can’t understand this “HVM” thing! Y’all don’t think it’s weird KS came up with that? I swear I’ve never heard any BW exclusively chasing well-off dudes for their money. Their are “gold diggers” in every race, but that’s not even a BW thing.
