Youre not required to deal with him once youre out his house. As much as he was responsible for your mental development, you still have ownership of it. Be proactive about dealing with it. Get a therapist or some shyt

Plenty of well adjusted people who had no fathers or mothers in their life out there. On the other hand having a trash parent (or parents) often results in people walking around with life long trauma

A lot of people’s fathers are dikkheads. That’s where the resentment comes from for many people, it doesn’t come from expecting perfection and being let down. It comes from 18+ years of dealing with disrespect and other bullshyt on a daily basis
