Exactly. I actually got really interested and researched horology for a while and I’m saying that about Rolex’s is not the full truth at all. And theirs people who keep their Rolex’s maintained for 30+ years. ANYTHING u get that’s expensive requires a lot of care and maintenance. Even down to Phones and TV’s. A Nokia brick phone ain’t better than an IPhone because the iPhone requires more maintenance. That’s just stupid and basic thinking.

Pretty on point, especially about selling maintenance and an object that needs constant work. The best watches I had in terms of longevity were among the cheapest.

Remember, Japanese luxury (mainly Lexus) was getting dunked on by the snooty Euro brands for being "boring". The only other "reliable" Euro luxury brand was Volvo and that too was deemed boring. It is really sad, cause I got involved in car culture, and unless your car spends the majority of it's time on the lift, it is dismissed in most enthusiast circle.

Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, hell even Nissan were the shyt in the 90s, then they got boring from a style perspective and from a HP perspective.
