I'm no Lupe fan and i've never heard a Lupe album. His shyt just never moved me like that, but what he said in the interview was not a dis or hate to Keef. We gotta stop with this crab in a barrel mentality that does not want to see positivity or good in our neighborhoods.

Gotdamn wtf you n1ggas doin over there. Why all the killing man? Go fukk a b1tch or something. Nikkas over there worrying about next nikkas and takin them off the map. All them 55 murders got families. That's 55 families. Mother an fathers, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles etc

That's a lot of suffering. You jus put that sh1t into prospective.

Nikkas man :snoop:
Man thats some sad shyt and this is what kills me about my people. fukk some rap shyt this is about life and how we're so trained to hate one another and kill each other over nothing and then glorify it for money. There's no respect anymore or camaraderie in the community. These youngstas look at each other like potential victims and not trying to hear anything the older generation has to say. No fathers teaching these dudes how to be respectable men and not fukking killers basically committing genocide on your own race for nothing. Like I said the Willie Lynch Letter worked and is still in affect today.

The major issue I have with Chief keef is that he is glorying murder, guns, violence, drugs etc without talking about the repercussions of it.. li

hes 16. most 16 year old street kids dont care about repercussions. why are people trying to hide reality? i agree with lupe. lupe understands where chief keef is coming from. whats the deal with the rest of you?

I respect Lupe and his opinion here but it's a bit misguided.. Hip hop doesn't traditionally have an affect on violent crime... Cities like DC, Baltimore and Gary Indiana have almost no local hip hop scene and nikkas drop like flies... More nikkas die at go-gos than gangsta rap shows... nikkas die at second lines in New Orleans all the time..

He wasn't saying that.
Listen to what dude is saying, he was sayin that the violence has BEEN there in Hip Hop/Street Culture.
He wasn't saying that Hip Hop started it or has a big influence on it.

What?

Shut up, man. Can you please re-phrase, or I'll have to file you as a shock-poster who would rather praise Wayne for sticking a band-aid on his heel after he tripped up, rather than Lupe, who expresses his disdain for the youth in the city that he grew up in.

Let's get one thing right.
He didn't express disdain for the YOUTH.
He expressed disdain for the CULTURE THAT CREATED THEM.
He also didn't say he DISLIKES CHIEF KEEF, JUST THE MESSAGE.

Also what did Lu say about Kendrick ?
Someone point me towards that thread.

making money? :birdman:

:manny: Yeah, I really don't think it's a conspiracy to marginalize black people. I'm sure they don't care if they do or not, but the chief objective is to make money. If the climate in this country was one in which positive hip-hop sold, they'd pump that.

but he's not talking about it. he's glorifying it, celebrating the wanton killing taking place in his neighborhood, where young black men like himself are losing their lives before they even begin. instead of talking about what he sees, he is cheering what he sees.

as a consequence, young black men -- chicago and elsewhere -- become conditioned to thinking this behavior keef revels in is acceptable on their streets. that's where a clear correlation between the music and the real life outcome of its dissemination can be drawn.

i won't deny the nikka has made some catchy music, but it's poisonous.

isnt it obvious that this behavior already is acceptable? hip-hop is the voice of the streets and the youth. chief keef represents both for his city. my problem is that his music sucks.
