Ice T was a pioneer for a lot of gangsta rappers but lyrically he was trashWhen we do these type of comparisons without any form of context(period,cultural and political climate,advances in tech and production) it just shows how much of a lack of knowledge some people actually have.In order to make advances in anything there has to be a blueprint..on top of that calling some artists legends is a reach..not feeling this thread when the premise is who do we consider thrash now? that is an unfair conversation even if some of the artists listed are/were trash,that was because they were trash back then too.This rewriting of history fails when you weren't around to witness the impact of some of the artists named(ie KRS for example).Quoting bars from 86 just proves that we have advanced,nothing more
The entire No Limit Records roster...can't deny how dope their music was back in the late 90's tho. they had a great run. I still have a few of my tapes in tact.
