Why did your parents allow you to buy music with parental advisory stickers on them? That music wasnt for children. They should have bought you something like Salt N Pepa, Very Necessary, friend.
They didn't "allow" me to do anything. I bought it myself. They didn't know. I wasn't really given the green light to listen to demonic Hip Hop. My parents were hard working immigrants from the Caribbean that wanted a piece of esaus' pie. They weren't privy to everything that was going on in the ghetto we stayed in. objectively speaking. I was a big Kurupt fan. truthfully, in the Chronic and Dogg Food days he was nice. he still always would flash that skill here and there throughout the rest of his career but I felt as an MC he bacame lazy and inconsistent as hell. then he just started throwing together a bunch of words that didnt make sense. sometimes it sounded dope. sometimes it sounded like bullshyt. lyrically he never reached his potential because he just wasnt consistent and he generally had the worst verses on a lot of them HRSMN tracks.
Kurupt always been pseudo-articulate with his raps, kinda funny

Well its either you love or hate Kurupt here....Kurupt had his moments, but I wouldn't rank him high as a lyricist...he's not bad, but just not great imo

You do realise that new york rappers took it a a diss and went to the radio station and advised the streets to shut down the video. Thats how the bullshyt started. New York always had a superior mentality in the 90s. They used to say the west coast wasnt hip hip. The nikka Kurupt had skills to me he outshined snoop on doggystyle. Sometimes a bit incoherent but dope regardless.
