People are stupid, black are 12% of the population, at no point have they ever been the core audience of a pop artist--Macklemore is still pop even though he raps--he does not need urban America like he is Meek Mill or something. To be fair, Jay Z always speaks on shyt when he wants to. He spoke on Trayvon and attended the NYC rally, I do not see how he will not say anything eventually. I also do not see how Kendrick or someone like that who has not said anything yet will not say anything eventually. Some people move different. But we would all like Jay to speak out more or bring awareness. Not everybody has the activist gene though.
Why are these 2 people in particular so important to you? If they don't want to be there why should they be forced to be there? We need to get our priorities straight. Jay and Beyonce are not be king and queen of Black people. I don't care where they go or what they chose to support.

I just don't like how Jay is only pro black when it's convenient but will lend himself to PSAs against antisemitism. People exalt Jay to the level of black royalty on here. When he makes a good business decision it's all #BlackExcellence, when he wears a five percenter chain he's damn near a black militant, when he makes a song like Murder to Excellence he's "conscious." So, I don't think it's unfair to criticize his silence on these issues, or his delayed reactions. Yeah, we all know how Jay is but that doesn't make it okay. To be fair most of the other black celebrities are silent as well. It just rubs me the wrong way that one of the biggest personalities to show up at a rally is fukking Macklemore.
More black celebrities have been vocal than I have ever seen before. It stands out when people in your circle like LeBron, Pharrel and Rihanna tweet something and you do not. I get the dismay.
