Aaliyah would be Christina Milian status if she did not die... Her career was too short to even compare to Beyonce. They are nothing a like as artists anyways.

Aaliyah was so cute, I had the biggest crush on her when I was in middle/high school (same with Mya and Claudette Ortiz)...her singing has always been good but she had that one lane, that urban R&B shyt and she was one of the best at it at the time.

But, Bey is in a whole nother class of her own...she's sexy as fukk not just cute, and her vocal range is >>>>, her performances are far and above >>>>>>>, she's the kind of superstar Aaliyah could never be even if she was alive but may she RIP.

I like Aaliyiah a lot more, more heart, feeling, more personality, Beyonce doesn't have that for me. Beyonce's music is good, it just feels more like the megastar she is, then from the heart, Aaliyiah's music has that kind of vulnerability and depth that I relate to, even if it's from a women's perspective. Beyonce probably far surpassed her in most ways, but I'd rather throw on 'Miss You', then another Beyonce anthem, anyday.

First album dropped in 94 sold 3Ms last album in 2001 sold 3M and a posthumous album selling about 2M.

So her career alive was 7 years between debut and last album, the fukk is short? That's 1 year less than The Beatles.
To be multiplatinum relevant for 7 years is not a short time and nothing indicated that she was gonna fall of.

People forget that she was an international superstar, not some underground soul singer.

no contest...
Aaliyah is a dime and had some great music

But beyonce is a far better artist. Vocally and catalogue wise

cmon now. one in a million came out a year b4 that bullshyt 'no, no, no'
aaliyah was already 5 years in the game and set the bar for that genre.
if anything, beyonce IS a far better artist with her voice and catalogue cuz aaliyah died so young at 22 in 01. beyonce is over 31 and got more shyt going on for her through these years cuz aaliyah died.
bootylicious came out 3 mnths b4 she was snuffed.. considering aaliyah was lean and really had no booty, i think beyonce was trying to get a dig in on her while trying to open the door for the girls who didnt look like aaliyah. :usure:
beyonce is a twisted girly girl. she was going for aaliyah's crown in 01.
she only got it cuz of what went down in the bahamas.

Her career was longer than Biggie's:yeshrug:

Beyonce is more talented vocally, but Aaliyah made better albums.

it is short if you have 6 years between albums... she was no a prolific musician and was too preoccupied with other stuff.

Look at how many albums Beyonce released in the same amount of time..

Well considering Destiny's Child 1st appeared on a song called "Killing Time" on the "Men In Black" soundtrack which was released in the summer of 97'. Aaliyah was well ahead of Beyonce. She already had 2 multi-platinum solo albums by 97. "Writings on the Wall" didn't even drop until 99. At that point Aaliyah had hit songs on soundtracks. I think Aaliyah could very well be bigger than Beyonce. She was schedule to be in both Matrix films. Those beats Tim and Danja gave to Justin and Nelly furtado could of very well gone to Aaliyah.

The fact is Aaliyah was killin before Beyonce was and as a solo artist her music changed RnB. Beyonce is a living Legend no doubt but I think Aaliyah again would of been right there in popularity. At the time of her death in 2001, Beyonce was popular but Aaliyah was still bigger at that point. Aaliyah also has a better solo catalog. She dropped 3 back to back Classic. I could only say 1 of Beyonce 4 LP's are Classic and that's her debut. Only 1 Destiny Child's album is Classic and that's "Writing on the Wall". LOL @ people comparing her to Ciara or Christina Millian. Aaliyah moved units. Only Brandy and Monica were in her league as far as Solo Young Females doing it.

Aaliyah is not a classic album IMO . I love Aaliyah but she would not have been able to do what Beyonce did in the 2000's. I don't know where this whole B wouldn't be Sht if Aaliyah didn't die thing started anyway :wtf:

Aaliyah was just really getting started when she got killed. She was on her way to iconic status. Baby Girl was an all around entertainer. She was bout to get it popping with the movies too which would have took her to a whole other level. Beyonce got that Worldwide fame but Aaliyah got that hood fame where everybody in the streets would mess with her.
