nicca acting like Aldridge and guys will want to come to NYC to play with bad teams with no stars , heavy media scrutiny and high ass taxes when in Aldridge case he has a bunch of good teammates and a super star pg. No one can deny Melo is a top 10 player, the issue is if he gets a Kobe max what kind of team can they put around him under the modern CBA. Kobe won rings to deserve that Money. Melo is still potential and a second round out.
Also the idea of a multimillionaire wanting to experience FA for free meals and getting his ass kissed is a joke. He's shopping and the Knicks got to make a bid like everyone else. The issue with that is if the Knicks want him 9/10 they are going to give him the Kobe max. Or he goes to a team that gives it to him and the Knicks not being stupid facilitate the trade.
Its not a coincidence the teams he wants to talk to or teams that can trade players to the Knicks in a Kobe Max sign and Trade. Its not a coincidence Phil Jackson put it out there the Knicks want him to take less or at least opt in to let the knicks get other players before they commit to the Kobe Max. Melo wants that Money Right Now.

Aldridge will be 30 by the time he hits free agency. He's not coming to NY to have to carry a team lacking cornerstones. Nor should you expect that, history shows big men start falling off noticeably once they're on the wrong side of 30.
You'd want LA here playing w/ Carmelo if the opportunity is there, not replacing him.

I think Phil realizes Melos a great scorer but has flaws and isnt the ideal person to build around so either take a paycut or take a hike

Am I less of a fan if I don't have a bad reaction if Melo leaves? Reading all of these reports is making me numb to the situation. At this point I don't care what his decision will be.

The draft is a damn crap shoot it gets us no closer to winning a title .
