I really don't know why eveybody is so down on STAT. Let him play out his contract, but if some sweet deals come along around the trade deadline, then I would think about moving him. Other than that, he played really well for us when he did suit up. I'll always have respect for STAT, he was the only one with a pair of balls to come here in 2010, it's not really his fault his knees disintegrated.

I hate when cats say this. Who else was offering him such a lousy ass contract?

You really think we needed Amare to get Free Agents here? Or did we need the resemblance of a stable organization?

Cats act like signing with NY is the equivalent of dragging ppl out to Cleveland.

trade for kobe? is that a realistic scenario or yall cats playing 2K again :russ:

kobe on the downside of his career is going to be 20, 5, and 4 for 3 more years.

plus all the intangibles (clutch plays, coach on the court, championship experience, basketball knowledge, 2nd GOAT, etc) makes it a no brainer. dont sleep on kobe, even at this stage in his career. plus him and melo are best friends.

some of yall wouldn't trade JR and amare for the OG :childplease:

:stopitslime:What makes you guys think Kobe is even going to be able to play enough games to make his contract worth it? Even some of the most ardent Kobe stans and members of the Laker fanbase have stated that Kobe's contract is god awful. This doesn't mean Kobe isn't an all time great it just means that at this point in his career he isn't worth the money he is currently being paid.

The Knicks can have neither the season after this. Why would the Knicks trade a terrible contract that is about to expire for a terrible contract that lasts longer?

NYC (but PGH will forever be home)
Watching our summer league game against Charlotte. The triangle is a thing of beauty.

There were legit 8 different beautiful back-cut passes in todays game alone. We may have had 10 back door cuts in total last season:pachaha:

Its soo lovely seeing passing lanes open up- Melo gonna eat soo well in this offense:wow:

Problem is- the more I watch, the more I think Amare is goin to hurt the flow. He doesnt pass well and he generally is a ball stopper down in the post. Meanwhile, Cole and Tyler seem to flourish with backdoor passes and finding passing lanes...:yeshrug:

for the sole reason of having a higher chance of winning a ship in the next few years.

I don't see how adding a 35 year old Kobe Bryant who hasn't been Kobe Bryant in 2 years increases the chance of winning a title. I'd rather use that cap space from Amar'e & Bargnani's contracts to add complementary pieces. I would even resign STAT at the vet minimum before trading for that ridiculous contract Kobe is on

Look ya'll they hating and praying for our demise again but we'll be straight

Melo & company with the East wide open makes anything possible.

I would like for us to gel quickly with the triangle offense and hopefully without any serious injuries unlike last year we'll be in a playoff spot looking to advance further

If not....

Kobe will be 36 next month, and is coming off a major injury. Who knows how he'll fare this season, not too mention the Lakers will never trade Kobe(their ticket sales and tv viewership would go down dramatically).

Come 2015, make a run at Rondo and Marc Gasol(assuming the Knicks don't pick Mudiay or Okafor in the 2015 draft)
