:pachaha: man this is what Karl Marx was spitting back in the 1800s bout how capitalism makes humans feel useless and invaluable....when u think about it, people are trading their life for a piece of paper with a number and president face on it..usually in a job they don't even enjoy....cats out here depressed b :sadbron:

I'll give my example.

I currently work for a city agency (I don't want to state which one) but dealing with the general public everyday has mentally drained me. I've really started to lose compassion for other people, especially since I'm dealing with people who do dumb shyt or ask dumb questions on a daily basis.

I've been here a little over a year, and I'm already tired of this. The job itself is boring & it's not something that I'm using my intellect for, and basically anybody could do. I really don't see how people at my position could be here for 25+ years and not want to move up. I've been currently applying to other places, and I desperately want to get back into my career field (sports management) or at least a career where I'm enjoying myself.
The only thing that I would miss about my job is the pay, and we get full health & dental benefits with a great pension (however, I wouldn't get my full pension unless I work 30 yrs & am over the age of 55, but I would have to work an extra 5 yrs to get my full pension & I would be 62 :merchant:)

Just wanna give props to everyone in this thread

It's hard knowing that what you do 40 hrs a week for a living you hate but it's cool to know everyone is in the same boat.

The promised land for most of us is being your own boss? I want a business I can pass down to my sons and family what about you guys? What's your salvation from the rat race?

yeah you'd think as a man that working around a bunch of women who work in the cust service dept would be right up a nikkas alley, but NOPE

you can't talk to any of the attractive ones because their friends cock block, you can't talk about p*ssy, you can't talk much about sports, you can't talk about shyt but food or some big worldwide news story with them

on the other hand they talk about each other all day and smile in each others faces

on the plus side though, I am halfway to the 25 stacks in my money market account goal that I set, and in about a year i'll be able to quit with 25k in my savings and move to europe and be a fukking janitor or something.

Every single day and it's even worse in the summer. I live two blocks from the beach. I come to an office with no fukking windows and sit here for 8 hours. A couple of days ago I was done with all my work by 1:00pm and just got more and more pissed off thinking about how I could be at the beach instead slowly dying and rotting away in this fukking office. I hate it so fukking much and it is legit one of the reasons I drink. We were not meant to spend 5 days a week spent in an office staring at a fukking computer screen. I'm on the list for the FDNY and I have a great list number and I'm looking at going in sometime spring 2014 if all goes well and I stay in shape. But until then I'm stuck rotting away.
damn breh i dont drink but i know wat u goin thru. how long have u worked there and is the pay that great to waste your life away for it??

September will be 7 years. And I used to make pretty decent money until 2 years ago. We lost a customer and that's where I made all my OT, 22k off the books lost. The money eased the blow of how much I hated it. Now I'm in full fledged waiting out the clock mode until April.

the internet
I quit on my birthday last year....best decision of my life.

I quit w/ 15K in my bank account...by October I only had $1,500 because I tried a few things on my own that didnt work. Losing that money really put me in hustle mode though. My account is good now, and im making more money than I ever have. I feel good about the future.

What you need to do is get your monthly expenses low so you arent so pressed for money. Then I would sit down and think about what you really want to do w/ your life. You must dedicate all your time to improving yourself and getting better at your craft...the fukkery must stop.
Drinking on Saturdays? Nope!!! Watching Tv all night? Nope!! Waking up late? Nope....you gotta grind and be serious about the come up.

The internet is a great thing because you can learn anything you want...and do any kind of business you want.

A lot of people say they want that kind of life...but few are willing to put that work in.

You'll never live or even pursue your dreams working for someone else.

I'm quitting my almost 100k paying IT jobs in 2 months. I'm selling my house. I've saved well and I'm debt free. I'm heading back to my home in Louisiana. I'm taking a few months off to be free and live. Then plot up a strategy to start a business or something. Life is too short to hate your job and life. You must give it a try. You'll be old before you know it.

This is why I may be moving to Houston soon.

I graduated HS last year and decided Im not going back to college. Im investing in my music 100%(Producer, not a rapper)

Will I become dr dre? Probably not. Will I lose my job and the only job i ever had if I go to Houston? yes.

But i gotta atleast try and go for what I want to do.
