Bruh, happened to me in a work bathroom at 6:30 in the morning one day. If I didnt get my A+ months ahead of time and leave a few weeks later, I dont know where my head would be at. There comes a time where a bullshyt job breaks you down. It doesnt even have to be a particular event…when that “I dont want to go back” feeling hits, it becomes really hard to settle back down.
Did you find something in IT?

Yes. Help Desk lvl 1 for a big midwestern health organization, then an engineer for a financial firm, and now something bigger with something bigger (not trying to blow up my spot). Those last days were dark, fam...im almost 5 years past that mess.

I decided a long time ago that I'm going to do what I want to do in this life. I never fell for the whole "I'm hard working and honorable" bullshyt lol. It pays to think for yourself. Work smart, be frugal, and get established before having kids. Everyone spends money on shyt that they don't need, paying down someone else's mortgage, and end up like this guy; burnt out and miserable. Black people especially have to be very careful about how they approach life, because this system is set up to hold us back. I worked at a factory when I was 18. I saw people crying in the breakroom, and I had the feeling they were crying because that job sucked. I went to college shortly after that experience.

I've also decided that I'm not going to give my hard earned money away to a landlord. People are ashamed to live with family and save money, so they end up like the guy in the op, At work all day living paycheck to paycheck, all so you could impress some broke down ass woman. Some of y'all got trapped. "I do it for my family" Man, you should've gotten established first. Better yet, don't have kids. Now you don't have any breathing room to get the job you want. Employers with horrible jobs love you guys. Don't ignore the torture right in front of your face and think it's normal because everyone's doing it. These people made all sorts of bad decisions and are now forced to work for pennies in horrible conditons with no end in sight.

Black people need to stop leaving home on a bad foundation. Live with family, take a loong time to figure out what you can do that isn't torturous, stack, buy property, and work on your own terms.
This is facts and everyone else wants to put you in their shytty position, so they start asking when you going to have kids, buy a home etc.. so that you become dependant on the employer, and they control your life. I'm broke, and if I'm still broke years from now, im not having kids or buying a crib. Gotta live your life, not an employers life.

Why are y’all assuming he’s some warehouse worker or working some low dead end job?:mjtf:

I’ve seen people in for example the medical field say the exact same shyt as him.
Facts. Plenty of nurses absolutely loathe their job despite getting paid decently.

One day, I saw a woman, maybe in her late 30s, crying and being consoled in the lunchroom. I had the distinct feeling that she was crying because she hated working there. I went to college shortly after that experience.

Facts. Its like, how do you see your older coworkers suffering on a regular basis and think that shyt is sweet? You think you're that much different or better than them huh? I remember going to work on a busy day and having to step over a woman that was on her knees crying in front of the clock in machine. From that day forward i knew i would never let it get to that point.

People think its difficult but all it really requires is living within your means. Unfortunately being an American at this point and living in your means requires sacrifice. American society is dipped in excess and greed. The only thing i will say about living at home though is alot of people have toxic families and mindsets that hold them back from thinking about their own lives instead of their family issues. Sometimes you have to seperate yourself from that and sacrifice for awhile. I have maybe one or two friends with families that allow them to stack and think freely. Everyone else is being burdened by something or one argument away from being kicked out or having to pay rent.

I would just quit. No job is worth breaking down over.

But if you got a family to support. You need to just Man up and do what's needed. I'm pretty sure out ancestors had it much worse than us.

Once people figure out you can quit and be all right, life gets easier.

People are afraid of the unknown more than anything. But that's what Faith is for, because you can't do it all in your own power.
Can’t quit when you have real responsibilities
When you're not doing what you enjoy, then no matter how much money they pay you, it feels like hell.
Even if you enjoy it the responsibility will make it feel like a job/chore

Dude in the video probably didn't take advantage of The Great Resignation while it lasted. But it's over now and once the Recession hits companies are gonna be looking for payback. I finessed as much money out of them as humanely possible job hopping. So whatever happens happens I got more than enough the last year.
