Bruh, happened to me in a work bathroom at 6:30 in the morning one day. If I didnt get my A+ months ahead of time and leave a few weeks later, I dont know where my head would be at. There comes a time where a bullshyt job breaks you down. It doesnt even have to be a particular event…when that “I dont want to go back” feeling hits, it becomes really hard to settle back down.

I remember those days breh….

I’m saying, this shyt is heartbreaking, and it’s millions of folks out here living like this, on the edge of their seats, pay check to pay check, zero quality of life, working to live, the working poor. You should not have to suffer for the rest of your life just to maintain a spot to rest your head and eat. They have taken everything, there is no such thing as affordable housing, whole entire generations of folks will never know home ownership. How are people supposed to build a foundation for their family while they are living in quicksand. This country need to rise up and fukking hold these people accountable once and for all.

Our living conditions only get better in the developed world because people are willing to have these conversations. Could you imagine some fool bringing up poor hondurans or zambians in 1929 at the birthpoint of labor unions and social safety nets? We'd still have child labor, no over-time, and 16hr workdays if we had stopped advocating for our own position back then, just cause some random person thousands of miles away has a bad life.


And arguably those random people living thousands of miles away are willing to come here specifically because we have these conversations about the betterment of our society.

Even though I do feel like we are overworked here in the West or in the U.S specifically

At the same time, I recognize the privilege of being here.

I'm African, and there are many people escaping from my country right now in order to find a better life in the West

and a few of them have died trying because it can be dangerous. They are escaping with the risk of death.


Hell, I'm a 37 year old that still works minimum wage retail because I had to shut my company down a few years ago due to government action

and I'm still positive and grateful for everything.

Hell, I even have friends of mine who are millionaires and they can lift me up out from where I'm at and they dont even wanna do that,
