Man, I gotta say it, but the amount of HDD space required on PS4 is a joke :pacspit:

@Liquid what about this one?!?
If speed is what you are looking for you need to look into an SSHD or an SSD. All those hard drives are slow as fukk. If you grab the SSHD just make sure you use the power of the "cloud" to have your saves stored on there in case the drive acts up.

Then again this is coming from someone who still mostly plays on the PC. Load times are unbearably slow on my PS4. If I used it more often I would have bought a 2TB SSD for it.

are the load times going to be worse just because its 2 tb? i ask because the stock ps4 drive is sata 1, 5400 already... so getting another 5400 is going to make it slower or equal?

with PS+ you can put your game saves in the cloud, which is great in case your PS4 bricks, but you can't put those big ass game installs in the cloud :whoa:

load times wont get worse, but as more demanding games are released they might in a few years.

They really should've given folks a 1TB option
they really should

sure you can upgrade. but then what do you do with your old drive?

really they should support external drives. doesn't it even have usb 3.0 ports?

clip on?

it's my understanding that you can hook up an external drive via USB, but you can't install games on it. I guess you can use it to play music, movies, etc, you have stored on the drive

I imagine they don't want to let you install games on an external because of piracy and/or modding concerns

First of all, I thought before the PS4 even came out, that it was supposed to have some back up processor in the background, thats supposed to eliminate load times, like the shyt was supposed to load while you're playing and shyt

You dont have to tho... :mindblown: it's an option... you can either use the clip on external drive or upgrade the internal one from jump and transfer the information over... :heh:

I know the struggle breh :mjcry:

I finally broke down and purchased the 2tb drive by Samsung from Amazon:yeshrug:
It's irritating to know you also may have to back up the saves to an external drive when installing the new one:martin:
Can't even finish certain games cause I had to delete them:francis:

Go ahead and bite the bullet breh, Amazon has them for a decent price (avoid rapestop they are selling 1tb drives for $130:russ:...the fuk :stopitslime: )

that ugly thing just lets you use a 3.5 inch drive, instead of a 2.5 inch. but's that basically the same as just upgrading the HDD, and it still has the issue where you have to throw your original drive in the bushes. that is not an "external drive" since it uses the same SATA connection the original HDD used
