:win: I’m still WFH taking 2 hour lunches, watching TV and laying on the couch most of the time. I get my real work done from 8-12 and then break out for lunch, come back around 2 and basically play clean up and prepare my schedule for the next day. I ain’t worried about a thing. I manage 150+ corporate accounts as the Point of Contact for the clients, as long as I keep them happy, my job does not bother me.

I mean, really, the bolded is the key.

I'm pretty efficient at my job, so I knock out what should be an hour of work in about 20 minutes, and just chill until I see there's something else that needs my attention. Works out so that I can fukk around and spend half my day doing whatever I want, while never falling behind on work. No one ever questions me. :manny:

And this is how realistic organizations know things work

This notion of consent motion equaling productivity is for micromanaging tyrants who are usually hiding their own ineffectiveness

That kind of monitoring is the fiefdom of ass kissing middle management

Have one of those charging stations so the laptop is closed but everything shows up on a bigger flat screen monitor WITHOUT a camera.

Used to put ducktape on my laptop camera. If they "spy", they ain't seeing shyt.

Most companies will spy when they wanna fire you and are looking to build a mountain of evidence.
They also will Jack into the mic to listen to what you’re doing apparently. I’ve heard of some people actually pulling the hardware in their laptops for the mic so they have control over it :pachaha:

You should probably look into finding a second wfh job to fill up an 8 hour day and pull in massive money. There are basic html coders pulling down $300k+ by taking on 2 or 3 jobs at once.

If companies are going to these lengths guaranteed that company ain't making no serious money cause they aren't focusing on actual output

As mentioned, if you can move into roles with more responsibilities, they start leaving you more wiggle room and eventually no one checks what your doing at all…..minus results.

The problem for a lot of people is those roles start having long days and lots to do and not enough hours, so it’s rare that it’s 2pm and there’s just nothing else to do.

My manager dont micromanage. just do your job. If you got a question or got something to discuss, set up a meeting in a addition to our weekly meetings.

the results have been great these past 2 years

Yeah I have my games turned low enough where the mic wouldn't pick up much :russ:

They probably spy on everyone at different times but don't actually evaluate the recordings/evidence until the manager decides you're not actually doing your work (missed deadlines, poor quality etc) and needs more "proof" to get you out the door.

If John Smith plays video games 20 hrs/week during work but turns everything in on time and does good work, no one is saying shyt.

Last job, especially the first couple of years......we had hybrid roles with 2 days at home/week. Sometimes 3. Remember waking up and playing Skyrim, Witcher 3 and HZD the whole day. Get my work "setup" in the office and then at home make some minor tweaks and send it out steadily during the at home days.

Yup.

My previous manager was actually really good, hardworking etc., and knew how to position you for promotions. From that standpoint she was awesome.

But.....she micromanaged like crazy. Always asking if you needed more work. Trying to figure out how long it took to do certain tasks by asking us individually so she could figure out how much spare time you had for side projects.

She was the type that would CREATE work for herself and do it. She expected us to be all Type A like her. In my previous post, I mentioned how easy it was early on at my last job. Got way harder over time because she was too damn nosy.
