Catching up with Jump

From the author who did Red Hood, which I heard got unfairly axed. Decent first chapter. Enough to continue reading.

So given how much Yor has changed being with the Forgers, you get the sense that Hemlock is really going to be a thorn at her side. Well mission difficulty for Yor significantly raised.

Witch Watch - Chapter 201: Damn Kenta been holding this gag for the perfect moment. Now that Nico is a middle schooler, the romance focus will the series will shift back. Considering how long it has been that Moi has been in dad mode, him adjusting back to being Nico's friend will be interesting. Fun points seeing her acting as a rebellious teen.

The mention of gifted ones. Then we get Lukas with what he has as his 2nd gift. Interesting reveal and brings the question about Diana. Could she have 2 or even 3 gifts?

Big chapter for Leo. It feels like the light in his heart opened up thanks to Milly. Just remembering his father and how great of a man he was allowed him to open up his feelings. No doubt the anxieties took its toll on him. Milly represents the light for Leo and not forgetting who his father was and what he stood up for.

Whatever Yuri found is distressing news.

Fantastic chapter to where the series goes from here.

It illustrates both ways of serializing a manga. Starting from a one-shot or creating a story as you go. Interesting to note of the serialization meetings as they are where the manga we read are born from. Good job on Fudo for declining the serialization priority because the biggest thing has been creating the best manga they can together. They want to learn from their mistakes rather of barely able to get by because of having priority.

Barazono teaming up with Fudo and Wakaba is a very interesting turn. Barazono like a lot of mangaka irl can't draw for all of their series. Plus the idea of going to younger passionate artists is also more appealing. We can also see Barazono also in the mentoring role for Wakaba and eventually have her handle more responsibilities. Plus adding Tadashi as the editor adds another angle that has lots of potential. The series continues to show more and more promise.

Man why did they have to do Nene like that :mjcry:

The cat's mention of Nene wanting to help her friends, and he knows what it feels like. This is more in line with something Hanako would say and would be like. Again of course the Tsukasa we know might not be anything like the true Tsukasa that is Amane's brother.

NpJZu5K.png

ez3OERi.png

Kind of an interesting turn to have Kako explain the danger of changing the past, and we have Nene experiencing that. Of course, she kind of in a do-or-die situation because she is literally alone. It really highlights that no matter what Nene does, Kou ends up getting killed. Even when she stops that she finds out she gets caught and kills Aoi and the others. I guess it more outlines Kako when he mentions the dangers and greed of changing the past. When you think you got the change you needed it, you're receiving a destiny different from what you first had.

Though Akane saying he finally found her? Given where Nene is at now is when time originally was first changed. Could Akane also be in a position to change the past? Just how could he be doing that if true?

Man, this volume really showcased someone's great storytelling alongside the great comedy which has been a consistent.

Sakurako's introduction or reintroduction into the story is interesting because she would be the first character that has an awful personality. Shiori was a bit odd at first, but she wasn't bad by any means. As even Iori's friends are the classic friends who talk shyt to your face, but you know they have your back. Hell, Iori calling out Sakurako's ugly personality and almost calling her bytch-Sama illustrates this. Though quite ironic that Iori's other coworker Naomi is the complete opposite. He is a genuinely good dude who has a passion for diving. It makes things awkward that Sakurako mentions she is going after him. You can feel the ill intentions from her.

d1t3hQH.jpeg

ROfleZN.jpeg

Though this volume really showcased how similar Naomi and Chisa are. Especially when it comes to diving. Very much so not only do they have a passion for it, but are great at leading others. The fact that he was able to impress the 3rd years so easily spoke volumes. Even though Chisa was a bit weirded out how much Naomi likes Iori, we do that the same holds for her. Iori has shown great character as he is someone and that cares about what is inside. He loves how passionate Chisa is about diving. The same could be said with Naomi. That is something that will draw people to you and is something Sakurako lacks.

Now it comes as no surprise that Sakurako gets rejected. Though given how her friends talk to her and how you can tell she is hurt has you curious. At the very least, Naomi was someone who was more than just a pretty face. Makes you wonder that despite the awful first impression, is there a draw of kindness in her? The end of the volume perhaps makes you wonder if she has character development in the cards eventually?

Man @LordDeathwatch this series is cursed :dead:

Maybe I will just read the web comic one day. The amount of revisions Murata is doing it's like he's trying to kill people's interest in the series.

I legitimately don't even check for it but like every other month because they don't drop shiit, same as Black Clover but not yet ascendant like HxH.

At least Black Clover is at least confirmed to have an ending in sight. HxH on the other hand :francis:
Still, considering the extended hiatus and then the change in publisher, followed by another hiatus, Black Clover should have ended at least a year ago.

This is painfully drawn out.

Fair point. Hopefully, when it finally wraps up, the anime will come back I have been meaning to binge it. Though that probably won't happen until the final part of Bleach comes out and Tatsuya Yoshihara finishes directing both CSM Movie (maybe he ends up doing the rest of Pt 1 too) and Wistoria S2.

For the parts that the anime covered already, would it be better to read or watch for a first-time experience?

It's one of the rare ones where the animation brought more life to the content and the things removed weren't truly a net negative.

After reading Seraph of the End, I'll never call Asta or Naruto annoying again tho. This broken fucck is abrasive, loud, and spams the Friendship shtick more than those 2 combined.

Man this series knows how to deliver the good emotional moments well. It hits you when you least expect it to.

Now this was not what I was expecting. You get so used to seeing Kohei acting like an idiot you think it was business as usual.

redlG7I.jpeg

Though when it is made clear he did it for Aina it leaves you impressed. Much like it has been shown how Iori cares for his friends we know see that for Kohei.

It really highlights how special the club is for Aina. Coming off the bad experience with the Tennis Club. Not only is she having a blast, but you also see how Iori, Kohei and Chisa care for her.

God damn that final scene hit like a truck :mjcry:

The way this series uses comedy and downtown and subtle use them to elevate these moments is hella impressive.

Not too many times you get to see Chisa & Aina bond together when the guys aren't present. Kind of sets the point how many times how many times you more so see the thing you lack then your strengths. I have heard complaints about Nanaka's character like "She would be the perfect big sister character if she wasn't a siscon." Though partially as the volume puts down how much Chisa wishes she could be like her sister. Who loves diving as much as her, but has the social skills needed to be an instructor. Hell, even Iori and Aina she feels a bit envious of. Which highlights of what I mentioned in the first paragraph.

m61LLaP.jpeg

8QIUJdX.jpeg

Of course, for Aina her focus is her feelings for Iori. We know how much he loves seeing Chisa being passionate about diving and how Kohei is true to himself. She clearly dwells on her for being too plain it seems as there is nothing that she loves. Though one could argue her being more plain and just wanting to have a good time with everyone is what makes her special.

ge4majn.jpeg

Chisa's whole relationship with her mom is a big part here. Though there is a bit of attention to detail that is very impressive. There are two things with Iori and how he tries to get Chisa's mom's attention. Everytime both Iori and Chisa are on the mom's left side, she doesn't notice them.Given how she acts towards Chisa with her goals is one thing. But adding this gives an impression she can be a bytch mother as how hypercritical she is of Chisa. Hell Iori thinking she doesn't like being called aunt at work mistakenly adds to this again.

6cW4Y3J.jpeg

ZLbFw9c.jpeg

Of course for Iori he notices when Chisa's mom takes the phone she gives and puts it on her right ear. Of course, I think most people can agree it is common to prefer using the phone on their right ear if they are right-handed. Well, the only clue is how Chisa's mom holds the book in that scene Chisa walks out. So you won't be bound to suspect that she is blind.

HsmjXgP.jpeg

g4qhnuS.jpeg

Though one thing is made clear, personality wise, Chisa and her mother hold similarities. It is less cold but how they want you to do things the right way. We have seen how much Chisa wants Iori to enjoy diving. In a big twist with amazing execution of Chisa's mom being deaf in her left ear, it all makes sense. She knows how much her daughter loves diving, and she doesn't want Chisa to lose that joy. As part of her payment, she sends her the earplugs which show her mom's true feelings and, for once, Chisa understands her mother. This even adds up to Nanaka's remark to Chisa about talking to her mother. It would make sense those two would be in contact so her pushing Chisa to talk to her mom aids to that point. Nanaka would never push her sister to do something that she would hate.

Once again while Iori has made his way to finding a place to belong with the club. It is also worth mentioning how he looks after he 3 club mates. Beneath the big idiot is a heart of gold.

Wow the characterization of Sakurako had me impressed here :ehh:

Kind of interesting that with Sakurako basically 5th wheeling herself when the other two 3rd and 4th wheels themselves her perspective is more aligned to Aina here. Especially what we know about their reputation at work. But we have seen Iori, and he does a fantastic job at empathizing with people. Actually, much earlier in the series you can recall that he was the one left out. When you consider he knows that Sakurako came will other intentions wanted her to at least be a little comfortable.

klWL2p2.jpeg

JUbuss8.jpeg

I highly suspect people would say why her, though? Kohei, Aina & Chisa have shown to be good friends to Iori. This takes back to her big arc a while ago. Iori knows she can't be honest with herself. For him, why not at least try to get her to fit in. Worst-case scenario, she blows them off. It adds more Aina too because she realizes she doesn't know Iori as much as she assumed. She does share interests with him, but that isn't the same.

y2txklg.jpeg

cl73hee.jpeg

Sakurako's confession does a bit of mirroring of back when she got rejected by Naomi. Though even after she confesses she immediately put her defenses up. Which again, much like she didn't want Iori to look at her when she was in tears after she got rejected.

Kpf9xVe.jpeg

ljqz1MD.jpeg

So going to have to retire the bytch-sama nickname now because her characterization was really nice. Though I do admit it gave me fukking whiplash at times. Considering how much you think she was going after Iori after he won the lottery. Of course, this goes along with her whole character where she can't be honest with herself. Now it does add speculation if this wasn't the first time since her group like here was at the same place as Iori. That is food for thought on my part.

We drug dealers in 2020 :blessed: this is already the best opening to a JoJo's adventure.
