On one side it is good to see Ichi doing what needs to be done. Doing what he can to save his friend. Also, the arcane spell he used it very interesting to boot.

HK1c38n.png

Though poor Gokuraku. The illusion of seeing his sister kill herself after being reminded of their late mother. Though the light could be a symbolism to Ichi asking what is family like as he learns it for the first time.

g5urWcb.png

W5rh4NE.png

For Akane, the thing she wasn't seeing was herself. Many times we can be our worst critic. At the same time, we can be oblivious to our goals. For Akane herself, she was thinking about where she wanted to be, but was blind to think how she could get there. For her, this was the big step she needed to realize.

xEAZOE8.png

As we have seen Nico in her child form it has been tough to figure out how her old memories played a part. This chapter highlighted that the butterflies represent a spell that happened, but until she reaches that age she can't process said memory. The idea of falling in love again is a bit unnatural here. Nico is returning to her old form and so is her love for Moi. Though I did love how they handled Moi's feelings.

6bOKmJN.png

PbtaUMN.png

As he is bound to his duty to protect Nico. He still has his feelings for Nico, but he is aware this isn't the time. Unlike before where he locked those feelings away. Here he is keeping them in his pocket. Plus, he wants Nico to have a more fond childhood. It isn't the perfect scenario because you can tell he has confidence high schooler Nico will be back.

Also, getting a bid focus on Nemu's mom is cool. Getting to see what the potential is for Nemu's magic.

Yuki is an interesting character, but her type definitely falls into obsession. More so she is obsessed with the hacks and honestly, if it wasn't for Takehiro, both would have been sucked in different ways. Very much shows how while Yuki & Hitsuji differ, the hacks are doing the same for them. In fact, a flashback of what seems like Yuki's father seeing her becoming a person she doesn't have fond memories of.

Reading through the first 4 chapters here for this one. It gives a wholesome vibe to it, but it's actually offering a bit of substance to it. Which is actually an interesting combination since it doesn't happen. World building with this is really good. Towa being a Siren where they are kind that they are never with the ones they love because they will eat them. Meanwhile, Kei is a Demi-human sheriff and that deals with all Demi-humans related. Though the manga shows an instance of their danger. Though Towa using that as something to push forward is nice too.

Nice to finally get clarification on the whole Iori & Chisa dilemma. It's clear as day Chisa has slowly grown feelings for Iori. Though him that has been more of a comfort spot for him. Though I do wonder at some point the differences in Chisa make it more difficult to truly go back.

soMJkCu.png

HD1KZ5n.png

I do wonder if this is the last we have seen of Sakurako. Since her character still feels incomplete in ways. She basically fell into the same trap that she did with Naomi. Her feelings for Iori were genuine, which I think it's clear as day. Her motives were not. If she were to be true to herself much like Chisa & Kohei are with him, then perhaps things could have been different. It ultimately comes down if she understands why Iori rejected her. Though given that the one who rejected her was Iori & her friends are not a given influence, it leads to wonder where does she go from here?

t0ST1RC.png

AJ8tamY.png

I love the small flashback conversation between Ichi & Gokuraku. As Ichi finally has a family for the first time, his question of "What is family?" is purely genuine. Gokuraku explains it perfectly. Essentially, family is that rock you can come back to, and they will support you at your lowest.

YtzQYjY.png

uWrX6Yb.png

Q0oHIzf.png

In this chapter, it is that family along with Ichi that brings him back up. Him saying he is the first prince as he wants the people's burdens on him, and he will embrace their suffering to take down Bakugami.

Akane-banshi - Chapter 160

Execution, ultimately it is the most important thing. Whether it is a story that is meant to bring joy and laughter. Or a serious story that is more serious and can even bring tears to the audience. I do think with Rakugo one of the more interesting things is to be able to adjust to your audience. Though what having the audience to adjust what they want? To get them immersed in the story what you want to tell?

In theory, it all makes sense. Though what I really intend to know is how will Akane do it?

I do admit the first chapter was paced a bit fast. Though I really like how this chapter went out. Sixten who knows the reality of this world. There are so many warriors that would die in the name of honor.Otr aims to be a bit selfish in wanting to defeat the ice kingdom and continue to life. I do love the way he shows Sixten. Not just Fylgja's flames for strength, but to continue living. The bath is an example of it.The introduction of Heroic Vigor is interesting. As it is more innate skill to combat magic like ice and fire. Has me intrigued.

How this series continues to blend the gag comedy at a high level, but can seamlessly transition to the big emotional moments never fails to impress :wow:

This volume while most of it was focused on Hayashi going against PAB & Chisa. The real showcase was Aina. Aina was a character who simply wanted a place to belong, and she found that with PAB. Though for her, there has always been doubts how see compares to the other girls in the club. Iori is a guy who notices the little stuff. He can tell that through the ugliness that Sakurako shows she has superb traits. But of course, she still isn't true to herself still which was her downfall. Now for Aina, she worked on the things bit by bit. The makeup is one example, but like Iori she wasn't super into diving when she first joined. Her improvements and efforts in diving didn't go unseen. Of course, as she finally confesses her feelings she seems to get her answer. Sure Iori wasn't sober, it gave her the general idea what his feelings were for her. Tbh they have always been super buddy buddy. Though bit sad for Aina for being in love for so long, and it ended up not coming to fruition.

7x6iTpn.png

Meanwhile, Kohei comes to cheer Aina up. The friendship between these two have been heartwarming for awhile. Similar to how Iori and Chisa started dating for Chisa's benefit mostly at the previous festival. Here Kohei does it for Aina. This time is a bit more interesting because we know why Chisa set it up at the time. Kohei absolutely did to cheer Aina up. However, is there more from Kohei's angle? Though it wouldn't surprise me if he did just to cheer up Aina.

Ok Igarashi really cooked here. I think it is easy to forget why Arisu is helping out in the voice acting course to begin with. It all started with Nene. Of course Shinobu joined, but as we know this wasn't exactly the best route for Shinobu. Of course, as this is part of Shinobu's big arc.

ENCSIIX.jpeg

Nene has been doing well in the course and Shinobu has struggled. Though seems to be improving more and more. As we see the sense of doubt in Nene. Many times we see tsundere in how they deny her feelings. The pain that Nene feels when she looks at the course program highlights how she cares for him. Imagining how Arisu would say he would take the class with Shinobu really shows why she would put that protective wall over that and run away.

arRZali.jpeg

V9WgiCV.jpeg

Of course, Arisu's answer is full of logic. Shinobu's next course will be more her strengthening her skills. While for Nene, her next course is vital as it can launch into a career for her. Which has always been the plan for Arisu. Though Nene needed to hear that.

Got to love the Prince's reactions for realizing how serious the situation is. Though Kitsu is more than dangerous and his Dragon Eye is scary stuff. Though I do like how Nemu doesn't differ from taking the Prince outside. It was something he was really looking forward to after all.

Pretty big chapter. We see more that Lady Flute looks nothing like a God. More like a mentally destroyed monster. Even more so adding the point is Mitsukai's relationship with her. The saddest part of her life is just draining away serving her like her mother. Now what does Rabi do because getting answers or getting Mitsukai to join him look like impossibilities at the moment.

Ending of the chapter had me rolling :deadrose:

Well, considering it's been almost 100 chapters since Iori & Chisa were fake dating, the only proper progression would be fake marriage! I do love how most of the chapter focused on how well Iori & Kohei were acting that the whole money thing was like oh yeah that is more puzzling.

Gr5xRVA.png

HsiE928.png

Considering we just had the whole fake pregnancy from Aina a few chapters ago, I am genuinely interested how Nanaka and the whole diving club are going to react to it.

Man ending of chapter hitting in the feels :mjcry:

I really enjoyed this arc. It really gives an idea for Yaoi figuring this stuff out now. Though even if Yayoi was able to temporarily save Sachiko Obaa-chan, she still saw the end. Though even Yayoi is much younger, she at least didn't get to die alone.

Nh4orqG.jpeg

VvcLYxf.jpeg

God the end of the chapter hit like a truck. It was at this point Yaoi realized her mom was taken by Kuubou and seeing her father didn't pass on yet. I loved the point that he would be happy if Yayoi just lived a normal life. You see it even more how much he loved his daughter. We see Yayoi as stoic, but to see her in tears was sad. As we return to the present, her resolve is firm.

What a cruel thing. Shade essentially lost his memories and all of that with Tanpopo. Shade has always been the one to be there for her when she needed, so to see this is heartbreaking. Despite the pain both mentally and physical, she is still pushing forward. Though there does seem to be some hope even if it is slim for Tanpopo.

With the information Jimmy gave hawk it leads to the sisters Mink & Cuku. Where Cuku hosts a magic shows of sorts. But man it was brutal. It was pretty obvious with the need for wine and how bloody the show was, Cuku is a vampire. It's clear that Mink feels underappreciated. Between her getting the wine and appearing on stage to address the audience.

Though makes me wonder what their childhood was like. Also, they are quite close to Hawk since Cuku calls him Hawkie. With Lili suddenly popping up it could lead to a conversation between her and Jimmy.

Some things to note from this chapter.

  • Interesting to see we see a different side of magic practitioners. Those that rather not use much to evolve and get stronger, but use it to cause trouble and get by.
  • Also, Nemu's power being half because he is out of his domain it is interesting. It is similar to Toilet-bound Hanako-kun with the school mysteries.
  • Quite funny how Nemu got the punks to show them around.

Very interesting chapter. It is clear that Oki had a great influence on Flute. Flute was someone that the people praised as a God, but even it didn't know why. Interesting to see the connection as Oki communicated Flute on how to become human it became human. Although it is clear as day that Flute became overly dependent on Oki. It is weird to call Flute one of Oki's friends because here Flute feels like Oki's pet.

90MmFVD.png

6ANWX9D.png

Q2OH17b.png

Interesting to note the words from Mitsukai's mother where she needs the truth of Flute has become away from the rest of the villagers. Essentially hiding her, which honestly is part of the problem. I wonder if her term we would be nothing, but monsters would be something similar to we would lose our purpose. Though how would they accept Flute for who she truly is I wonder? Or will this lead to a sad ending for Flute & Mitsukai?

Amo is quite a nutty character. Her gift that she uses to manipulate smell is fukking dangerous as we see with all the guys being put under her spell. Essentially manipulating them to protect her. Even more so, forcing Rudo to remember Chiwa is truly messed up. I feel bad for Delmon since he remembered what seemed like his wife and who knows what happened to her. Who knows what would have happened if Tamsay didn't get the situation under control.

9UL4JW3.jpeg

JqspprR.jpeg

Y4TpyHP.jpeg

Although for Amo it seems she has suffered a good amount. Of course Rudo has a point of her manipulating everyone is wrong, but being aware of the situation is important. Being sold by her mother to a creep child trafficker fukking sucks. Her personality right now probably is a cause of what she went through. Wonder who is the one who appears at the end of the volume? Also, Rudo is clearly different from the rest, but what Semiu describes is concerning. What would the curse be?

Read the first volume. Basically, the world of the story is Onis vs The Momotaro which are heros of sort. Though the story takes place more in the perspective of Oni. The bit how their mental plays a part of their powers has me intrigued in sorts. Though nothing too much stands out but will continue to read.

You got to feel bad for the woman, but Toya does have a point you can't throw away your life in the name of revenge. Though curious what the sister had planned. Well, given they killed her it is difficult to gauge what it was. One thing that is curious is the name of the person's last name is the same as Akito's uncle. So this could work well to his own benefit.

fk0bLoz.png

POgMvMw.png

7VkAwzN.png

It's clear that Shiranui knows Toya well. Though unlike Yukiharu, it seems he looks at her as a woman. As with Yuki, she is closer to friend and comrade.

I heard great things about this horror manga @LordDeathwatch

Given CyGames Pictures animating it, should be adapted well. Started to read it.

As the title of the series is described, Hikaru is dead. But what has taken over him? What is rather odd is that, even knowing this, Yoshiki still wants him around. But you can tell he knows this isn't normal. What is interesting is that this new Hikaru maintains the old memories of the old Hikaru, but experiences don't count. So watching the movie puts him in tears because this is his first time experiencing the movie. The stuff with watermelon is something easier to digest from memories then movies. Though oddly enough, there are many similarities between the old and new Hikaru that it is weird.

The old lady does have a point that only the living cling to the death. The death doesn't in reality. It is clear that the lady experienced a similar thing and paid the price when her husband came back. This more so only puts more on Yoshiki's mind. The interaction with Hikaru monster just adds it to it. What exactly happens next will be interesting.

As Kiyoshi trains with Sakaki we are also introduced to Kyouka Kurogane. Much like Sakaki she is basically a Cross Palidan. Though with the Black Parade happening soon, all eyes will be set for that.

First of 4 new series from WSJ. Twin pitchers altho the ending of the chapter leaves me curious where they plan to take it. From it goes from brothers playing together to rivals potentially.

This arc for Ichi the Witch has been outstanding :wow:

With the theme of family in this arc, it felt great to get a bit on Richia. Gokuraku not accepting Bakugami is clearly how she sensed something was wrong. Yes, there was the hole of her mother's death, but the hole regarding her brother. Bakugami took the sadness of her losing her mother, but the sadness of her brother separating from her wasn't something he could take away. Since he was still alive. I am happy we got Richia taking a stand here.

K2GyhlQ.png

lOulx5q.png

Also, that punch from Gokuraku to Bakugami was so satisfying. Fantastic chapter.

I find it very interesting how Hikaru & Karashi differ in terms of competing with Akane. Hikaru is very ideal in that she wants to beat Akane at her best. While Karashi is more a realist in that idc what handicaps Akane may have, I will beat her regardless.

HmkZIwK.png

CN7RZ6r.png

Now the question remains what will Akane do because she is clearly confident. But in the media we have many works that might be more technical and better written. But if it is not entertaining, you can lose the audience.

The Elusive Samurai - Chapter 207:

Takauji turning the tables here is something we have seen. Honestly, I expected it to happen as him getting things back in his favor has happened multiple times already. I am interested in how the gang combats the diety because they are going against a God at this point.

The goat is inside Diana feels important. Though does she really grow faster than normal people? I did like we finally got a point to where Atlus differed then Akros because Akros would have killed Titi without hesitation. Meanwhile, Atlus hesitated and thus Julian was able to make it in time.

CuuSX5f.png

Dad is fun. He definitely carries the emotions in the family. Though for Towa at the end was heartbreaking. Shibuya's concerns are valid because he doesn't know if his feelings for Towa are true. At the same time, Towa feels like she is cursed. Not to be with the one she truly loves because you feel like you influenced his feelings, and it isn't something you can prove. You can see the look on the mom's face because more than likely she had to give up on the one she loved. I am not sure how you could prove the love is true. Perhaps there is a way to break the influence and see if Shibuya could fall in love with Towa naturally. Though I have no idea how one would execute this.

Oni blood is a very interesting tool in this series. The weapon they create is different for each Oni. Looking at Homare, Shiki & Jin it all makes sense. For Homare there is some clear trauma with how she acts and, more than likely, something with her sister. For Jin, he seeks strength more so and that is who he is. While Shiki is more laxed and thus his blood weapon lies with a more flashy gun. Though Jin's use of his blood weapon was a good way to showcase that just because you have power, you need to learn how to use it. Because a being without blood will die. Shiki compromise with JIn was interesting, but it told a lot about Shiki. He cares more about results then how one gets results, unlike Jin.

3zKsSOF.jpeg

b15KQHf.jpeg

5DYCrUj.jpeg

The last portion of the volume built on the world a bit. First is Momotarou and rather how unsettling they can be. Although that could be more regarding Tsubakiri. How Oni uses their blood is very versatile and intriguing, but he is clearly sick to want to experiment on them. It is stated the Momotarou fight with Black Bacteria from their bodies. Though how does that differ from Oni blood. It also seems Tsubakiri & Naito share a bit of history which seems interesting.

Seeing Jack Joe & Nethan fighting together was pretty cool. Although the best moment alongside that was the memories from Jack Joe. While he was a Demon Lord, he wasn't evil and honestly, it feels good given he joined the gang. He truly fits in now. Plus seeing Jack Joe & Nethan able to help out is great to boot.
