So let me get this straight...

Once upon a time the Warriors where one of the worst teams in the league...but had some young talent...they hired Mark as a coach and he gradually turned them into a perennial playoff team...

But it seems in this thread people DON'T want Mark Jackson as a coach...because...?

because he was more of a motivator, not x's and o's. He established a winning culture but thats it

Isn't this exactly what the Timberwolves need to do:patrice:

Or are they skipping this step and going 74 - 8 next year if they hire someone else :jbhmm:

put it this way. When you're a cosntant losing franchise, any type of improvement is good. But eventually just getting to the playoffs isn't good enough. Look at the Bengals, they're happy just making it every year. AKA SETTLING. Look at the Clippers and Golden state. Perennial losers over and over. but they finally opened up the pocketbook, got some real ownership and said, we dont wanna just make the playoffs. WE WANNA WIN. It's like a guy who couldn't get females at all. so the first female that shows him some love, he gets with her. even though HE'S SETTLING.

I hope he gets it, so I don't have to listen to him awkwardly commentate the Warriors games anymore.

He's either sneak dissing, or trying to make up for the lowkey shade he throws by saying completely over the top and outlandish things like "They should retire Steph Curry's jersey right now" ... he's like 25 :mindblown:

It's like a scorned lover watching you have sex.

Mark Jackson and JVG competing for the same job? :russ:

I heard the Wolves are interviewing Mike Breen next. :lupe:

I'm surprised the Coli hasn't shyt on all these candidates for the following reasons alone:francis::

Thibs - Former Rockets Assistant
JVG - Former Rockets Coach
Mark J - Former Rockets Player
Scott Brooks - Former Rockets Player

Man what kinda fukkery is this :laff:

Do all the dirty work, make the players better, establish that chemistry, take us to the playoffs and then right before we peak we'll bring in a real coach to do none of the hard stuff and he'll continue your work and take credit :smugfavre:

That's the equivalent of taking a prissy vanilla virgin, teaching her how to up her sex game for months, without actually hitting it. Just watching her develop into a :noah: sex machine. Getting her comfortable and easing her into all the :shaq:ness. And then once she's ready to go all the way, "welp time to bring a REAL MAN in :smugfavre:

People make it seem like if Kerr got the warriors when Mark Jax did they would have been a title lock the entire time or something. They would have still be Ringless those 3 years. They simply weren't Mature or good enough. Regardless of rotations and systems etc. Steph still wasn't the best player in the world or even a top 3 PG . Cut it out.
Three things:

Championship contending teams built mostly organically are built in phases of growth. First there is the lottery teams with incremental expectations every year building talent, then the budding playoff team for a few years with young stars, then contender with stars are in their prime.

Secondly, the average coach only lasts 2-4 seasons anyway. Unless Mark Jackson improves dramatically as a coach, his team is going to peak or tune him out and he's going to get fired. However, what he has been proven to be good at is instilling professionalism, defense, and a good foundation for young players. He has not proven to be able to outcoach anybody or adjust his style.

Lastly, stop comparing Mark Jackson to Kerr, or he will never get another job.

What are you basing this off? How can you have a 30 game win improvement in just 2 years and not be a considered a good coach?

They went from 36 wins with Keith Smart down to 23 wins with Mark Jackson the next year. Why aren't we :cape: for Smart?

Should get Thibs

Mark Jackson could work for a young up and coming team. Just make sure to get rid of him and hire some competent once you make the playoffs and start having championship aspirations
