31st and 43rd aren't new beaches. they have been there. 43rd street is my favorite way to walk to the beach. you can park right there on 43rd and oakenwald for free and then theres a ped-bridge that goes right to the beach. most people don't access it there cuz they use 39th street or 47th street instead.

It took me a while to figure out what the were doing

Its one of the better things the city did for south of Roosevelt
Cause after 57th there wasn't actual beach until like oak street



Only thing there was to do was post up in the parking lots and chill on the lake front
Now there's 2 beaches between Roosevelt and 57th

It wasn't gang members, I'm sure of that. There were mostly suburban hs kids and hs graduates at the beach that day.

There were no guns b/c of that.

I didn't know this. the traffic situation alone makes that a beach I'd never visit anyways. However, I have ridden my bike down the lakefront path over there last summer a few times and it was hella crowded between north ave and fullerton on the beach.
