Kellerman is talented for sure.... but people prop him up to hate on :sas1: ..... and a lot of those doing the propping up of Kellerman or white washed nikkas..... with that being said, Max thinks he's the smartest man in the room low key, more times than not..... He just needs to leave the gimmicks alone and stick to the academia side of sports commentating.....

a podcast is the perfect place for max.

idk about with Rich Paul but we'll see.

dude is honestly best on radio but I can understand not wanting to work that grind at his level anymore if he doesn't have to.

First Take was always a bad fit as long as it was a bloviating trash fake hot take show.

Max is cool at times but at his core, he is a smug white guy that thinks he knows everything lol.

Nothing wrong with being smart, but he has a energy about him that could be annoying and offputting.

Even his boxing opinions are bias as fukk and for him to say that Dana white shyt at the canelo press conference just proves he's not authentic

He's just not a natural with quick witted hot takes, couldn't make his point in under 2 min, and had no comedic timing, etc

:manny:

He didn't have that issue on sports nation with Clarissa/Beadle and Marcellus...hmm....

It was a fun early evening show and he still flexed his intelligence through various segments.

Pretty sure the issue was first take took itself too seriously a bit too often.

You could clearly see that there were times Max was getting the better of SAS and he did not like it, SAS was supposed to be the intellectual and Max was supposed to cater to the everyman by being a buffoon. Hence why Skip was a perfect foil for SAS.

Max said it was the opposite. Stephen A was the loud reactionary. Producers had to keep flushing out Max until he didn’t see things like Stephen A. Stephen A just had to react to the guy across from him….

And it works better when he is reacting to a goofy like Skip, it makes him look smarter.

Kellerman is just not fit to be a lead on a live TV broadcast, it is what it is. It's just not his skillset
He thrives better in a long form, slowed down form of media where he can flesh out his thoughts and give longer breakdowns. This is why his current show, The Ring Magazine Podcast, it's a longer 2 hour show. He's doing great at that. Also did Radio, great at that as well

His time on First Take was clunky. He's just not a natural with quick witted hot takes, couldn't make his point in under 2 min, and had no comedic timing, etc

You can also look at when he was on HBO Boxing on a live broadcast, he was always the 3rd guy on the mic :manny:

Other than boxing, he doesn't really do hot takes. And I think he only does that with boxing because he's more knowledgeable then the average person.

Every time I’m quoted by you I know I’m going to end up reading some bullshyt.

And I have to ask myself if I have the energy to destruct your nonsense point by point.

And I don’t.

That nikka is just dumb.

He got mad and called a bunch of us c00ns for rooting for a black man fighting another black man. :dwillhuh:

And it's not like the fighter we were rooting for showed any kinda c00n tendencies. :heh:

Stephen A couldn’t bullshyt with Max like he can do with Dan, Ryan and others who just let him giggle, fake laugh and act like he knows football, boxing, MMA more than people who actually been it

They just let him talk because they getting paid

While this is true I don't think it applies here. SAS wanted the juice. He wanted it to be HIS show. It couldnt be that with Max there and Max acknowledged this. With Skip is was different, as Skip did him a solid in bringing him on and was his legit friend. Once Skip was gone SAS was all about establishing himself as number 1 on the show and the network.

SAS did the right thing for SAS.

fukk Max
