so many people get in their feelings when in the same space as cats they know are smarter than them in certain areas.

applies so many places in life man.
While this is true I don't think it applies here. SAS wanted the juice. He wanted it to be HIS show. It couldnt be that with Max there and Max acknowledged this. With Skip is was different, as Skip did him a solid in bringing him on and was his legit friend. Once Skip was gone SAS was all about establishing himself as number 1 on the show and the network.

Every time I’m quoted by you I know I’m going to end up reading some bullshyt.

And I have to ask myself if I have the energy to destruct your nonsense point by point.

And I don’t.
It makes sense because you are a non-black poster who used to say the n-word and has disdain for black athletes (and probably black people in general).

It is of no surprise you love Max Kellerman, and it is of no surprise you disagree with my posts. I would hope I would never find common ground with a prejudiced non-black poster.

He's terrible with boxing, he's better outside of boxing. A lot of people think Kobe wasn't top 10. 10 is a lot of players that's not that bad of a take tbh
Thank you. This is another myth just based on him being present during a prominent era of boxing. He sucked then and he sucks now.

I just looked at a clip(from this) of him breaking down FT and why he couldnt really get with it. Basically SAS was ok saying wild shyt like "Bronson is the best Knicks ever" and Max wasnt comfortable with saying a take just for the views/rating. If he said a take, he wanted it to be something he actually believed and could back up with facts instead of something outlandish with nothing to really back it up.

He had plenty of outlandish takes that someone would only hope he was doing for the sake of TV. Max needs to stop pretending he was some serious sports commentator above the fray of trash. He was a clown.

He argued in all seriousness that Andre Igoudala should shoot an open shot to save the universe before Steph Curry :beli: somehow this doesn’t make him a clown but Stephen A is.

Max Kellerman is a better sports commentator than Stephen A.
Always has been.

It’s just that for some stupid reason people find Stephen’s attitude and performance more entertaining.

I think the collaboration ran its course in part because of what Max said: essentially Stephen got tired of debating a smarter guy. But also because he just didn’t have the same chemistry that he did with Skip. Probably because they’re both low brow morons.

Being performative and hot take ish is way more lucrative these days in sports media than just being normal unfortunately

first take was the nail in the coffin for sports media. Now every show is full of hot takes and contrived arguments

Kellerman is just not fit to be a lead on a live TV broadcast, it is what it is. It's just not his skillset
He thrives better in a long form, slowed down form of media where he can flesh out his thoughts and give longer breakdowns. This is why his current show, The Ring Magazine Podcast, it's a longer 2 hour show. He's doing great at that. Also did Radio, great at that as well

His time on First Take was clunky. He's just not a natural with quick witted hot takes, couldn't make his point in under 2 min, and had no comedic timing, etc

You can also look at when he was on HBO Boxing on a live broadcast, he was always the 3rd guy on the mic :manny:

I think the fact that he wasn’t a fit on first take speaks well for him

Hacks tend to do well on there because anyone could say something stupid for attention and take a dumb contrarian viewpoint for the sake of arguing for TV

If they constantly have to talk about you
Also being the lead/1st clip of said interview
....that means you're the draw

The interview makes SAS looks good

On KRS One's nose, eating sunflower seeds.
Max is not a better sports commentator. He’s more subdued, but he just as dumb and ignorant about sports as Stephen A, Columbia degree or not.

He has volumes of footage (on both radio and TV) of stupid takes, being completely wrong, veiled racism, and being a know it all jackass. Basically like every other talking head. The myth that he was some great sports debater comes from people not liking Stephen A, not from his actual prowess.

There’s a reason no one besides local radio shows wanted him after First Take. No one willingly sits on the sideline in media for that long. No media company worth a damn wanted to invest in him until now.

In the words Dame Dash, Max sounds smart to someone who is dumb.
Exactly. Max is overrated when it comes to sports and even more overrated because we hate SAS.
