I think, in both cases, it depends on where you live.
Most wealthy Black men in the U.S. have Black wives and girlfriends statistically speaking so not all Black women have monolithic tastes just like Black men don't.
Also, I think people are conflating what "hood dudes" even are. I noticed a lot of dudes will call any Black man with swag, dreadlocks/braids, and confidence a "hood dude" even if nothing about his background is actually hood/street or criminal. The realest hood/street dudes are broke guys with rap sheets and who spend a good portion of their time hanging out at liquor stores and delis and who don't have the best hygiene.
People are calling Rubi Rose a "fake hood girl" but many of the guys that certain women fall for are fake hood guys too. Ja Morant is a fake hood guy who actually has decent looks(pause), money, clout, and fame. Most actual hood dudes don't have that and they don't appeal to most women who aren't hood women themselves with the same backgrounds.
The only reason TLR doesn't think it happens to men because you're probably thinking about literal crackwhores or the ugliest hood women imaginable. But tons of men who were raised right get turned on to hot and thick women with ratchet mentalities. Many church boys will befriend the church girl but give more attention to the thick/thotty girls with crazy attitudes who play hard to get. I've seen it happen so many times.
