:russ:At this whole thing.

Its like the motoring equivalent of buying a DJ Kay Slay mixtape having him insult you, call you a BAN, question your sexuality and academic choices before you'd even got a chance to listen to a new beat or fresh bootleg. All after you'd pay for this straight up consumer disrespect that kept him in 3XXXL Avirex.

*Jumps in the fresh new whip and hits Start*
*On board computer says "I see you're broke with your non heated heated seats, slow speeds and everything stuck behind DLC. Drama King!"

You will own nothing and be happy about it.

Technically, if you really get down to it, what do you own? Not even your kids, if you think about it, as they can be removed and taken into care and that is the literal flesh of your flesh, blood of your blood.

Don't come at me with that "Sometimes its better for the jits" as there are plenty of cases where children have ended up in the system and fared far worse than they would've with a partially functioning adult for a parent as well as countless other examples that belie the truth of the iron fist hidden beneath the silken glove of existence. Really consider what I've just said and the implications therein.

Those who own this world, and by extension the people of it (but not those in it), let you play with their toys so long you think you bought them when in reality its just a huge head game designed to fleece whoever heads their way.

Its surprising how many can't/don't/won't see the hustle but then its also testament to its skill and effectiveness as the oldest tricks are the best because its so huge and so old that so many people fell for it, time and again.

Step 3- Consumers will buy subscriptions to stunt on "broke people who can't pay the subscription"

i know nikkas complaining about this shyt...but I love this type of shyt. Seeing all the innovative ways companies can strengthen their brand and monetize even further. The folks who would get this are the ballers who can afford it and dont give af about burning money. Subscription service for cars. Genius...even if obvious. Its something thats trending for most industries in some way or another. Keeps consumer and manufacturer connected and strengthens brand loyalty. Other car companies will no doubt do this. Apple set the bueprint. Only a matter of time rappers are name dropping "acceleration increase" in songs like they do hellcats and SRT
:gucci:@UpAndComing was right but there are some people conditioned to just straight to step 3.

If you think old cars are expensive now? Wait until this bullshyt becomes the norm. This is one of the reasons why old Toyota trucks are worth a grip. Peep the prices for 90s Land Cruisers and 4runners. All mechanical and minimal electronics in these trucks.

snippet:

“There’s an affinity factor if you grew up around these tractors, but it goes way beyond that,” Greg Peterson, founder of the farm equipment data company Machinery Pete told StarTribune. “These things, they’re basically bulletproof. You can put 15,000 hours on it and if something breaks you can just replace it.”

The tractors manufactured in the late 1970s and 1980s look and run like modern tractors, but lack the computer components that drive up costs and make repair a nightmare. That’s made them popular at auctions around the American midwest. A Nebraska area auctioneer sold off 27 older model John Deere tractors in 2019. The old work horse tractors are so popular that one with low mileage can sell for tens of thousands of dollars. A 1980 model with 2,147 hours of use sold for $43,500. A 1979 model sold for $61,000.

I was trying to find an older jeep and yeah you’re 100% right. There was some older jeeps that was around the same price or more than my 2019 smh. These people act like we have to buy their cars. I bet shyt would change if people just don’t buy them. They’re not the only car company out here.

I knew someone would quote me because I used an overused elucidation that sometimes rings true. Silly me letting my perspective boil down to that.

I normally don't give into the conspiracies, however, I don't even think this is a conspiracy. Eliminating ownership and creating perpetual profit are means to narrow power to the hands of a few.

I'm not sure what relevance your assertion that owning ones kids isn't even predetermined. My concern is all spectrums of a political system can eventually inadvertently turn into an undesirable political system; an oligarchy or a monarchy.

No one truly owns anything, sure, but there have been times that one or the few can dictate what they want the masses to do, and the illusion of mass ownership actually had some control in restraining that ability.

What Mercedes, Tesla, Electronic Arts, Valve, Amazon and the 100 or so companies that control most of the production and distribution. of consumer, medical, agricultural materials is doing should be more alarming to the general public. But like someone else said previously, it'll eventually be looked at as a status symbol to stunt on your peers, because we're competitive by nature.

This is problematic to me because I see the greater implications of what this could turn into in 20-30 years from now once younger generations; many of whom are out right disdainful towards older generations; begin to assimilate to this standard of living. That's the side I am on.

Step 1 - Consumers will complain and protest

Step 2- Consumers will eventually give in and pretend the protests never happened

Step 3- Consumers will buy subscriptions to stunt on "broke people who can't pay the subscription"
