you could argue that meth has the greatest ability to flow with hof mic presence, and vocal tonality, all time.
which would be hard to debunk.

we talking flow, mic presence, and vocal tonality.
not wordplay, content, or anything else, just those three, and it would be hard.
to pick someone in history who was better.

I feel like they created a monster when they did that tho. I read that they clowned it after Method Man dropped tho which is why Bring the Pain and a lot of that album sounds like it does...maybe not the sing song flow but the nursery rhymes stuff he used to do mixed with the Dr. Suess

you could argue he was the best styles era rapper, with no question.
plus, he was one of the first ones to transistion from that era, seamlessly with no issues in skill at all.
while others, it took them a few years of awkwardness to get it right.
red switched from the styles era really well, too.

If he would've cut those damn skits and just trimmed the fat on the album he would've had a classic on his hands. That was at the height of Def Jam just demanding so many songs for their albums.

A homie of mine says there's a reason jay and meth have never been on the same song (to our knowledge) and it's because he'd get eaten alive.

jayz would have played/rapped up to competition and styles/skills morphed on method, if they featured together.
in jayz's best years from 95 to just before bpii.
jayz always rapped up to his comp, or bested his comp.
on rd, with jaz and sauce jay did it.
on the sauce money feature pregame he did, etc.

now, i don't know if he could do it.
as personally i think he finds people to ghostwrite for him, on the low, now.
as none of jayz's verses sound like the jayz.
who was the jayz who made his draw larger, to be jayz.

the what....one of the best collabos ever

big, rapped up to meth on that record.
as big had no real consistently vocal tonality record to record, bar to bar, in that era.
whereas meth, was already a fully skill solidified entity, way before that.

i would say my favorite meth feature, after the styles era is:

Time for your crooked mind
Drunk off of cheap wine
Son I'm in the street crime
Every word, every line
Got juice very fine
Turn me loose on mankind
Detonate the land mine
Funk gets me goin' now
Never sell, never sold
Live by the code now
Never tell, never told
Darts I throw
Like Clyde with the finger roll
Clutch shots an what not

funny thing is dem nikkaz in this gif and that thread.
are getting props for doing a pisspoor comedy version of slick rick's hof whop.
who imo, slick rick had the dopest whop, to the top all time.

slick is a little older here, and doesn't take it all the way to the top in this clip with dana dane.
yet, this is a few decades later.
