This is just a side note, in general, but RZA didn't produce the new album, Cilvaringz did. And while he's kind of a clown, his beats are 100x closer to the original Wu sound than RZA has been in 10+ years.

Fred.

Dude is the ultimate Wu stan but that "I" album was dope as fukk

Rza just gave the fan base his art and only a handful of cats actually bought it. You know, the Wu-tang album that just got released.

People in here complaining that Rza holding out. This one copy album is a compilation of songs that civalringz collected over the years. Rza came on board later to make it official. If they just threw it out for free or a quick sale it would have got about as much shine as the Chamber Music joint. The only reason this one is getting so much media coverage is because of the one album concept. And as has already been stated, the 88 year clause is simply for commercial sale of the album, it doesnt necessarily mean the album will never be heard for 88 years. It also doesn't mean that there is a shortage of available Wu music, especially since they just put out an album.

But if yall are really hungry for some Wu that you haven't heard, I'm sure you can find some Mathematics or Bronze Nazareth joints that slipped by. Unless of course you are @Billy Ocean, in which case you have probably heard them all

This ain't about media coverage. This album has been getting talked about the last 6+ years among Wu fans. We knew it existed, it was basically "Detox" status. It was RZA "The Cure" status. It was Jay Electronica solo album status, because everyone that had heard it claimed it was as close to their '93-'97 run as we've had in the last 20 years.

So the idea that this is "just another album", like "A Better Tomorrow", or "Chamber Music", or whatever, is wildly inaccurate. shyt is a laughably bad comparison. If you never heard of this, or had no interest just say that.

As far as "A Better Tomorrow", or the rest of the random Wu shyt you mentioned, like I said Wu fans have wanted this specific album for 6+ years. Not sure what listening to Mathematics or whoever is supposed to accomplish.

Lastly, and hopefully for the last time....how is this album going to get heard, if the owner can't re-sell it? Who is this mythical kind hearted soul, that's gonna drop millions of dollars and just toss the album out there for free? What set of circumstances do you foresee, that this would realistically happen?

Fred.

the only thing that wouldn't make this a stupid idea is if its backed by him trying to leave his grand kids or great grand kids some money based off of the sales of this album. :manny:

Publicity stunt. No one has found this pretentious ass album on a torrent site yet?

Glad other people see it for what it is.

This is the thing too. People wanna talk high art, and how nothing like this has ever been done before, and how the numerology of 88 years is 8 Clan member plus another 8 for a sideways infinity because Wu-Tang is forever and bah blah blah.

Genius can be in the simplest things. At the end of the day, it's just beats and raps. I hope they stop pretending this shyt is the greatest thing ever to happen in music history. You got some fukking samples and drums and raps. You took a bunch of them and put them together. Just put it out. Or don't. But this whole fiasco is silly. It's not that serious. In 88 years I promise no one will give a fukk about this album.

It's not about who will listen to it or care in 88 years, its about the concept and the publicity now. And its a stupid and pretentious concept.

in theory itt reads well for them especially in this climate with downloadding for free etc..
But at the other end it sucks and we suffer, the wu tang fans and supporters, unless it does get to us eventually..soon.
