People will stop buying and there are eager countries to replace Mexico. The issue is if China starts talking to Mexico and offer to trade with them more and in return let them build a military base in North America in Mexico. U.S. will have to go to war with Mexico to prevent that.

I'd recommend an embargo. Any country or business that does business with China cannot do business with the USA would curb that. Send hitters to borders to gun down Mexicans to send a message. That's the extreme case, though.
