Thee only people I give money to is moms and pops. They did so much for me but everybody else forget about it. My nickname is I don't got it to those leeching muthafukkas.
I have a friend like this. Whenever I work OT or get a raise the amount of $ she asks me to "loan" her mysteriously goes up. I did it 2x and vowed to never do it again, cuz it was always some fake emergency that I had to drop everything and rush to the bank to help her out. Now when she asks I straight up say I can't afford it sorry. She ain't get the hint yet

I would did the car deal for them, and told them to pay back in installments. If they can't get to work, and then loose their job, then they really gone be coming for you.
Question: We talk about black folks needing to be more like other ethnic groups and helping one another out. In OP's situation, how does him saying "no" to his family fit into this cooperative economic equation??

I say that to say - I don't wanna see somebody ass out...but if you got a PATTERN of being assed out because
you don't make good decisions, I doesn't make any sense to throw my good money after bad.
I got a relative who also needed a car to get to work...mind you, this was for like...her 4th job in a year.
She STAY gettin' good jobs and fuccin' 'em off doin' dumb chit. So she got another job, and needed help gettin' a car to go
to work. I was like "how she get to the interview??" lol
Now she didn't even ask me, because she
knows better. She got my mama to give (GIVE!) her a car...which she quickly wrecked doing non-work activities.
So she ended up losing that job.
I said "she need to find her a job that's on the bus line."

-what its for
-how it is the best use of the money
-and a timeline in which it will be payed back.
And he requires it typed and signed.
He even does this to extended family

It got to the point where I don't even want people knowing what I make. Between family asking to borrow and then never paying you back because "you ain't hurting for it so why you in a hurry". Then even with friends if they find out you make a lot more than them when going out or going to dinner they start expecting you to pick up the checks. fukked up part is I wouldn't even mind picking it up if it wasn't expected. One of my partners is broke as shyt but would still pick up checks or buy drinks when we kicked it. I hook him up on the regular.
